I think the first week I started using ringtones began the crackdown to not use free and instead use "bonus" or "complimentary".
To be honest it would not have ever crossed my mind to market something as "free" when it was not free.
I think the potential downside to all of this is if the government applies more heat to the Telcos crap flows downstream and it could potentially hurt the entire ringtone industry pretty seriously.
Of course now I think about it, didn't the old ringtone landing pages from the providers claim free ringtones.
