Don't ever forget that they are an employee. Some people get all friendee-friendly with their employees and then the employees slack off.

Never be afraid to tell an employee he's not doing his share or what he gets paid to do.

Do make sure to keep their work limited to job description tasks at least 95% of the time, if you can't then what you need to hire is an personal assistant and not a regular employee.

Learn to delegate and trust that things will get done correctly, if they fuck up once it's ok, twice the same mistake? they're fired.

Reward good judgement and profits, so for example if you had one employee that in 2 months has helped you double your ROI on certain things reward the fucker, and not some 2 bit shit either, an employee that feels valued is one that will treat his job like he is a partner/owner.

Pay fair, they aren't stupid and they will learn your business model and rinse repeat on their own a lot quicker if you pay crap wages.

I dunno I will think of more. My family has a retail business and I constantly have to deal with and manage employees.
