You, my friend, chose a very difficult niche to jump into. I'm not sure really what direction to point you into. If you are shooting for organic results, you are going to have a ton of competition. For a directory / DB site I would point you out here, but you've got a long way to go to fill in the blanks if you want every branch in the directory.

Since this is WF, I might suggest some PPC. Use those subdomains you were talking about and make some landing pages. I'm sure someone could point you in the direction of a $100 yahoo or MSN voucher (MSN would be good for finance related ... I think). Should be an easy way to make the $1 required to keep the domain.

You wouldn't have to pay much to get started ($30 for Yahoo) & I'm sure that the guys here can help with the brainstorming for keywords to bid on.
