Been gone for a bit .. time for an update.

My domain (contentlinks.org) is just a clusterfuck of confusion at this point. I initially was going to sell a script via the site and backed off because of TM issues ... I'll open shop elsewhere for that script.

About 10 days ago I threw up a meta search engine and targeted 2-5 word, decent paying phrases that have to do with "content" and "links". I've had exactly 2 natural visitors heading to the site from Gg. 102 indexed pages at the current moment, I'm ok with that level after only 10 days.

1 HUGE flaw in my plan ::: Because my eye was on the "content links" script, I wanted to keep the context of this site themed around those words. Hopefully it will be a good link to the resting place of my script in the future. Well here's the flaw ...

Who searches for "content" and "links" related phrases? webmasters.
Who clicks on ads? non-webmasters

So in order to make a buck off this (via adsense or any other avenue) I have to rely on volume, which I just don't have. I personally don't think I have a snowball's chance in hell to make a buck in 10 days ... how's that for confidence.

I'd still like to transfer the domain over & pay for it as it's part of my long term plans, but what I have done here was just foolhearted and poorly planned out.

The whole meta-search engine site is a great development platform and I've made decent coinage in the past with some niches. Content & Links are just bad niches for making money.

I = fail (for this anyways)

The good news is that traditionally about 1/2 of my sites either fail or never get launched so I'm on par with history :]
