People with both technical and commercial skills are rare. That's nothing to do with the Internet; it's just the way people are. If you have both and are motivated to work hard and think for yourself, you will always make money.

The only constant is change. If you sit on your arse and just collect on what you've done already, you'll eventually go broke. If you keep working at it, you're ahead of 99.9% of the general populace, and unless you are very unlucky, you will still make a great living. People are getting more, not less obsessed with buying shit, and that means the market is getting bigger. And we are nowhere near feeling the effects of all those folks in India and China with their newfound credit cards.

If I really wanted to be sure of a future in IM, I'd learn Mandarin.
