I do expect a great service from them, but bear in mind, not every Google product is a hit. People still use wordpress.com, their groups are great but there are still others, we still use msn adcenter (well, that is because msn surfers have tattooed credit card numbers on their forehead and their webcam on).

Also, when was the last time you spoke to your Adsense manager and asked him to up your cut?

But, yeah, it will bring more competition to the affiliate world, just like adsense did.

When armies around the world start using Google Earth, they will get +10% on that. When they start using gmail... see any "pinky and the brain" episode.
I agree, I don't think you will see email submits from Google where you have to buy $5000 worth of products to get a free Xbox. Has anybody here used referrals? I thought it was a freaking joke. I guess they had to buy somebody to have a decent interface.

Side note. Google is looking more like Microsoft. Instead of focusing on their core products they are branching out into other territories. MS with the Xbox, Google with the g-phone. In a few years two guys in their garage will be stealing market share from Google. At least this is advertising based, which is what is Google's business.
