You know that bit of advice about ignoring people and eventually they get bored and go away? That really works here.
Ask your questions. If you get stupid answers, just wait it out till you get one that you think is worthwhile. Otherwise, ignore it.

And how could they have compelled hosting companies to close? Do you mean getting hosts to shut down individual websites maybe?
