Once they have worked out the last kinks in "Synthetic Crystal" growing we WILL have a singularity data storage medium.

The amount of info that a Crystal can hold is off the charts. It's not affected by magnetic fields and the storage life is infinite as well.

No concerns about temperature (Short of Lava or Liquid Nitrogen.), humidity, magnetic fields, water, dirt, or oily finger prints either. These ARE concerns for current disc data and USB drive's shelf life.

Remember the movie "Superman"? It'll be similar to what "Krypton" used to store their info prior to their sun going super nova. (But smaller.)

The reading devices will only be limited by the size and shape of the opening. If they were to be "Unitized" you could just put the crystal into ANY device with a reader/writer. (Use your imagination here.)


So "Discs" & "Flash Drives" are already heading for the "Cliff of Extinction".
