Let me get this straight...
- You want to build a site that helps people build resumes.
- You want to compete against Goliaths that offer the same service, such as Monster, Dice, Careerbuilder, and 4000 other major sites.
- You want to spend $100 a month on it.
- You think that anyone with a copy of Microsoft Office 2003 or 2007 will abandon the prebuilt templates on those platforms and use your shit?
I know this is the newb forum, but dude, take a step back for a second. What you're trying to do is dumpster dive behind a McDonalds and resell the rotten hamburgers as gourmet sandwiches.
I guess what I'm trying to say is you're not gonna monetize that site quickly, if at all, without some seriously creative strategies aimed at the total losers of the world, which are the only people who would be stupid enough to use it. You're not solving a problem some business or person has, you're simply a low-budget 'example' site.
Your money, your time, none of my business. Just trying to do you a favor and tell you you're 'polishing the brass on the Titanic'.
It's all going down baby.
