In most slaughterings, the animal is rendered unconscious w/ a bolt gun, then bled out. Peta (and the like) get a hold of these videos, then spam them out to the public like this is what goes on in 100% of slaughterhouses. That's just not the case. This is just an example of silly archaic religion adhering to idiotic practices that made sense hundreds or thousands of years ago, but make absolutely no sense in current times.

Personally, I blame religion for that unnecessarily brutal slaughter.
