Everyone is always trying to monitize everything even if it means spamming and filling the interent with more garbage. Why does everyone feel compelled to monitize everything? Stop minitizing, stop spending and stop trying to get paidf and pay. Just sit back for a second and try to use the world wide web for how it was intended with it was invented 17 years ago. Stop spemming digg and stop spamming forums. I hate ringtones and I dont like ads. I think its annoying weh people try to get rich quick and put too much emphasis on get paid get rich and such.

if advertisement didn't exist you should be probably still browsing the net with a text based command line client
you're shouting at the wrong side of the barricade

Um wrong. Learn you history icecube b4 you make more ignorant statements. Netscape & mosaic were some of the first graphical browsers and this was before the proliferation of online ads.

Ahem. You posting that is like...erm...(strains for a good comparason)...me walking up to Linus Trevedius (spelling?) and telling him that "man, I love Linux, but too much free stuff is bad."

You're just asking for a kick in the balls.

If poodle head knew how much the burger joint that he works for spends on proliferating the world with advertising he wouldn't be so hard on us for taking a piece of the online pie.

yeah wrong forum poodle. most peeps are in here to break from corporate BS and learn to make a living online utilizing their skills, whatever they may be.

dude move to china and you can be where the internet used to be in the old days and go work in a sweat shop.

what do you want? communism or capitalism?

I'll play.

I personally hate freeloaders. The ones that will suck you dry for every last penny, every last favor, every last beer. Always taking and never giving.

When I put up a website, I pay for the domain name. I pay for the hosting. I use my tech skills, which came at a considerable time and money investment, to keep it all running. I either create content myself (and yes, my time is worth something) or I pay someone to create it. When internet users find that content, they are using those services that I paid for plus more when they use the web page.

The internet makes it easier and more convenient for people to get information. Convenience costs money. If those users want to freeload, they can get a library card. However, even the library is costing them money via their taxes.

If they want convenience and the information they're looking for, they still get it without cost to them but I will be paid for my time and expenses in delivering it to them.

If you want everyone to be on the same level, no one getting paid for their work, and all is free to everyone....check out communism. Then again, that didn't seem to work out too well did it?

And the word is m-o-n-e-t-i-z-e

You can look that up on dictionary.com, a place that provides a valuable service and gets paid for it through advertising.

Silly capitalists....not paying for the massive amount of traffic that comes their way as they help people spell. They should pay for that out of their grocery money.

Huh was that last line intended to be joke? Not funny.

Wow dude you are a fucking idiot. You realize that we live in a capitalist society right? People buy shit everyday. While the internet was built for sharing information, it now serves a bunch of other purposes such as allowing people to buy consumer goods online. Why wouldn't you want to get a piece of that multi-billion dollar pie?

And to add to blondeTM's post... you think all of this domain registration, bandwidth, content generation, graphic design, web development...and so on is free? You're a fucking freeloader if you think the whole web was designed for you to take and take and take while everyone gives and gives .

I have nothing against capitalism, but I am opposed to filling the interent with garbage. The internet used to be an effective research tool but now there is so much spam it is impossible to find anything. Thats why wikipedia is growing in popularity so quickly. Most of the time you do a google search and click on a result that seems relevant but it is actually a link farm that links to other spammy sites with adsense and CPM ads

go work for google and matt cutts noodle...i think we have a google imposter in here

time to play?

Although poodlehead is rather naive and abrasive, he makes a good point here. I feel the same way.

Too bad there is nothing that can be done about it. Although it sounds like google is cracking down big time on made-for-adsense sites.

I'm lost. You want the internet to be completely devoid of commercial enterprise?

If you **seriously** don't have the skills to use the internet as an effective researching tool, I think you might want to check out your local library. They can help you get onto all sorts of databases that are without a single ad. In fact, they can probably give you a lot of valuable advice to change your mind about how the internet can be effectively utilized for research and navigation.

You are not obligated to use any search method that leads you to a pointless link farm. Exercise your right to avoid those areas.

Aside: Mods, ban this piece of garbage, kthx

OK, the posts here by Poodlehead are all just so wrong, on so many levels.

First PH, let me direct your attention to the title of THIS site. It is:

WickedFire - Affiliate MARKETING Forum - Internet MARKETING Webmaster SEO Forum

What part of the word MARKETING don't you understand? In a later post, you refer to wikipedia... go look up MARKETING there. Or did you just start this thread knowing you were going to get kicked in the nertz?

Take a look here World Wide Web Consortium and read the header at the top of the page. Is not the W3C leading the web to its full potential? They say it right on their site "The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) develops interoperable technologies (specifications, guidelines, software, and tools) to lead the Web to its full potential. W3C is a forum for information, commerce, communication, and collective understanding."

COMMERCE ya dough-head! We are participating in COMMERCE, part of what the web is designed and destined for!

Oh, and don't go getting the World Wide Web and the Internet confused. The terms are not interchangeable.
Webopedia: The Difference Between the Internet and the World Wide Web

Later still, you mentioned you've never seen a Burger King ad on the Web. You been living under a rock?! http://www.bk.com/#menu=1,-1,-1 BK has a web site and, what do you know... they try to get you to BUY their stuff!

Cripes man, either get with the program or go spout your lame-brained ideas someplace where they're welcome.

I don't have time for this shit, there's beer that needs drinkin' and money that needs makin'!

PS Chris, Google doesn't run the web, they're a for-profit company, monetizing the web, just like the rest of us. And, as for poluting it with spam, that has been Googles mission since the first day they collected a web page. The more spam they index, the more money they can earn.

Google is NOT the best place to search for anything if you truly want information. It has just become a commonly used word like Kleenex for tissues and Xerox for photocopiers.
