Here's an extremely easy formula to get tons of exposure for your blog or website, and in turn anything you promote. It will also help you to gain authority in a niche and gain expert status. It's so damn easy any fool can pull it off.

1. Pick a niche. Something popular.
2. Find the most popular bloggers blogging about topics in that niche.
3. Find the most popular forums in that niche that allow signatures with links in them.
4. Create a signature with links to your blog in it.
5. Create a post on your blog that SLAMS one of the popular bloggers you found. Truth may be important for sustainability but not absolutely necessary. Fabricate if you have to. (If you make up lies, this may actually help fuel the fire)
6. Post to the forums you found with the same claims in your blog post. Sling as much mud as possible.

This will instantly ignite controversy. People will pick sides quickly and be compelled to share their opinion whether they have any clue what you're talking about or not. This will in turn drive your post back to the top of the forum over and over again, further fueling the fire. In turn, your post will get thousands of views. People will visit your blog, and link to it from their blog.

Remember, pointing out the flaws of others will give you authority. I mean, if you're smarter or know better than someone who is successful, or already an authority or expert in a niche will only make you look better.

Then once that topic dies down, just target someone new, or find a new niche to exploit.

There is nearly unlimited potential to this formula, and can be implemented in a very, very short period of time.

Great post!

There are quite a few threads right here on wickedfire that resemble this exact method, whether they were intentional or not.

The best part is, is that it's an extremely easy way to come up with relevant posts on forums that are SURE to be popular.

You don't even need to really know anything about the niche. Just poke and prod at the "experts".

If you're lucky enough, the person you're posting about, or their minions, will link to your forum post or better yet, your blog post.

At the very least the hardcore supporters (or haters) will chime in and more than likely become interested enough to visit your blog. No publicity is bad publicity. Good way to gain exposure and branding.

Everyone loves a little controversy. Just like Tool says, "it's no fun til someone dies". I think this is sort of along the same lines.

hahaha, yes what an epic fail! I can't believe how few people checked out the post and replied to it. It definitely didn't go exactly how I said it would!!

Reference my post on the other thread.

I think this would work great in other niches...
But going after a fellow affiliate marketer, on an affiliate marketing forum.. and being pretty much WRONG... you look like a fucking idiot in the industry you "think" your banking in.

So, now I was wrong, a fucking idiot and I'm not even making money? Wow. You sure changed your tune quick.

Its my opinion on what topic you chose to "link bait"

You don't even need to really know anything about the niche. Just poke and prod at the "experts".

Hey you proved yourself buddy... Now here is YOUR gold star

Haha and now I don't know anything about affiliate marketing too? Funny how your bouts of disapproval only showed up AFTER the peanut gallery chimed in.

Updated Just for you!

Don't be a hater sitting on the sidelines, join in!

Hot threads get thousands of views.

Making kick-ass comments in popular threads works just as good as starting a popular thread. Use your wit, style and insight when you post and grab quality screen time in a hot topic. Take advantage of weak arguments, give quality information on the subject or, if you dare, take on the thread starter!

Look at your Benefits!
1.Views
2.Links
3.Visitors

You leave all this on the table when you don't comment on hot threads!

Plus when you comment instead of starting a topic you get all the bonuses
without the hassle of being viewed as an attention whore!

No matter what you do, be sure you get a post with your links on the first page!

Don't wait!!!

Find a hot thread and get in on the action now!!!

Fucking pathetic... Continually talking shit about others in an industry in an effort to hype yourself up is simply pathetic and a failed strategy in the long run as you will end up looking like a douchebag...

Bloody hell... I got to Melbourne for a weekend to checkout property, and I miss out on all the fun.

The saddest part is that noisecode actually was onto something here.
He tested it out on us, and proved that it actually did work. BLoody hell, 5 pages of replies in the other thread? But the stupid thing is that he actually tested it out here.
Shit stirring for fun and profit is one thing. Shit stirring when everyone who can follow a link knows why you're doing it is a tad odd.
