A couple of days ago, I started my first PPC campaign and picked key words that google said were getting hits (not alot of hits, but hits nonetheless).

Anyway, so far, I have yet to receive even one click.

I used the exact match unit to check these keywords and put them in exactly as google had them, but nothing.

I am running the ad's between 8am and 4pm because I can' t afford to have them running 24 hrs yet, but at what point should I eliminate all the keywords I am using and start with a whole new set of keywords.

I don't have a lot of money to spend on ppc, so I can't bid on the most expensive words. This is my dilemma. How to bid on keywords that will get clicks, but that are not too expensive.

No one is clicking on your keywords because they can't even find your ad. And they can't even find your ad because you are bidding too low.

Instead of running your ads from 8-4 (which is called dayparting), you might be better off setting a daily spending limit.

So, would you suggest I run the ad's 24/7 and increase my daily spending limit?

I indicated earlier, that I don't have a lot of money to spend, but what would be a minimum daily limit you would have to put in in order to ensure that your ad's start showing up?
