hi guys,
one of my campaign is getting a good CTR but the sales have been low since last month in the bodybuilding niche. Was wondering is it coz of the recent economic problems? Anyone else facing similar problem. What abt all you guys? Has this affected your sales. My traffic is from US n Europe.
Do share your experience and advice you would like to give.

No. You're probably doing something wrong. I could be wrong and your market may be affected but my weight loss stuff which I guess is pretty similar hasn't slowed down at all.
 
the whole recession thing is BS... while our economy may shrink by percent here and there... people are still spending trillions per year. keep that in mind.
 
at the same time, people may be spending less money on luxury goods due to the looming recession BUT other markets will get more traffic. Debt or credit report are two that come to mind.
When one door closes, another opens.
 
About six months ago I started going after all the "evergreen" type markets where people are ALWAYS buying.....think sex, love, dating, wedding, pregnancy, child care, bar mitzahs, other family rituals everybody goes through at some point and all the accessories people buy for those rituals....weight loss, antiaging/appearance and skincare.....yada yada.

What you need to do is to stop promoting your damned ferret wrangling for 40somethings sites....you know, stuff that's so freakin' obscure or strange that there were very few people buying in the first place.

This is the time to go into big honking niches and grab a piece of it even if it's in the longtail or sub-basement.

I stopped worrying about the recession when I realized that the worst case scenario is that the economy temporarily shrinks to the same level as about 1980. People were making millions back then, too.

Recession only hurts restaurants, when people realize they shouldn't be stupid fucks by paying $3 for a loaf of bread.
 
Maybe, Maybe Not

It would really depend what sort of business you're in. The recession is fed by consumer fears and inspires more fear. If you are in something economically related like credit cards, mortgages or real estate it is quite possible that the recession has a lot to do with your problems. Switching from something with a low number of conversions but high payouts to something with a high number of conversions that costs your customers a lot less may help.

Recession hasn't affected sales much...must be something you changed.
 
Always money to be made, you're still able to increase your profits and drive more traffic, this is the time to really build it
