Google Banned. Let us do something as a group

Hi All

There are quite few affiliates got banned by Google for promoting Google based Biz offers.I know lot of affiliates got frustrated. I talked to some of my affiliates they seems to be very much disappointed. I am from AptNetwork. It is not just a loss for affiliates. It is also loss for networks too. I have lost few of my top affiliates on this issue.

I think, The network has to step up and do something to fix this problem. The whole PPC affiliate industry is nothing but Affiliates, Networks, Search Engines & Advertisers. If any of the link is having problem will affect the industry. Let us put the frustration aside and do something about it as a group. We will get a better response from Google. If we go as a group than a individual.

I am open for any ideas here.

Idea number 1. Affiliate summit is coming up. I know Google has a presence in the summit. Why not we collect the act and approach Google as a group. I know Aug 9 is little late but not too late.

See Google has a Affiliate Network too. If they Google hate affiliates on one side how they want their revenue other side?.

Any other ideas?.

"multibillion dollar juggernaut" wants your (affiliate) money . They get your money from Adwords & from Affiliate Network. obviously you all matter to them.

Do you have better idea?. or you want to just quit?.
 
Well, Google might be just a tad less pissed if their name and trademark hadn't been used, abused and raped for rebill offers.

I mean, seriously, what argument are you going to use?
 
Google wasn't going to let people pimp shady rebills with their name attached to it forever, most pragmatic people were surprised they allowed it for as long as they did. Go to the next offer and get on with your business.
 
Hmm.

I am not worried about that offer. I am worried about the affiliates. Some of the guys do this as a full time. How to get them back on track..
 
I do this full time, and pretty much only promote google rebills , I'm hurting but not out of the game.

As a AMer , I realize how tricky this can be , and just because the money is pouring in one day , it will continue forever.

Google did what I expected them to do , I had planned for this and even though i'm hurting in the short term, will be just fine in the long term.
 
you have no leg to stand on with this one i'm afraid....that and it sounds like you're just repeating the same exact sentiment that all the other youngins' who had their first google account suspended are whining about.

bottom line is you violated their Terms of Service. You agreed to it when you signed up for the account, if you didn't read it then that's your loss. Let's face it, you got caught. Crying about it or trying to petition them repeatedly to reinstate your account is borderline futile. The % of people who are successful at getting their accounts appealed is lower than what your conversio whether n rates were... just do what everyone else does and move on..this is all part of doing business in this industry. Search the board and you'll find lots of threads discussing how to get around your recent pitfall. If you're smart then you'll view this as an opportunity to break your dependancy on Google... relying on one source of anything will ultimately fail..that's a traffic source, ad network or LP.
 
you are overestimating the importance of the affiliate in their eyes. even with a huge group they would not care. the fact they can't be bothered to deal with the concerns of affiliates that follow the rules and just fire off canned responses is proof of this. if they cared in any way, shape or form they wouldn't slap our campaigns and treat us like maggots.

on top of this as others mentioned, you broke google's ten commandments putting you and other affiliates in the same situation at of the level of maggot shit. you are seen as a menace to their system. they don't want or need your business.

the only chance we have is if the biggest cpa advertisers somehow become buddy-buddy with google. the advertisers would have to come up with offers that are "morally sound" enough for google to give them the stamp of approval. we could then run select "adwords approved" offers with confidence knowing at least the offer itself is cool with them (our advertising methods are another story).

as much as i'd like the above scenario to happen, it is idealistic and probably never will.

Exactly, a blessing in disguise.

Even if you did have your Adwords account back, you wouldn't be able to run a bizopp campaign through it without running the risk of a ban at any point, at any time.

That's not the kind of business model that I'd like to be relying on.

So your going to lobby Google to include scam offers that feature their name on thier search engine? LOL..good luck.

I know they way out from here not to go against Google. Talk to them and see how we can come with adwords friendly campaign It may not be 100% possible. But I thought we could try.

I agree we owe a apology to Google. But I get the point. Guys may lose the big share of traffic volume but it is not end of the world.

I can't take anyone serious who is stupid enough to type in black font on a dark grey background... Do you use a yellow pen to write on white paper also?
 
we could group as some guys who had those campaigns on pause for a long time and say something stupid like - we didnt know but once we did, we stopped it all and reported to the ftc.

sounds like crap i know.
 
If you rely on 1 traffic source or 1 offer your in the wrong game. Plenty of traffic sources and plenty of offers if you feel you can't tons of money without google(more than you need) you might want to quit now.

As strange as it sounds, google does not care about its affiliates or most of its advertisers. I know this doesn't make sense, but the evidence that this is true is everywhere.

Just remember google makes over $61 million dollars PER DAY from adwords. Losing a few hundred affiliates who are negatively using their brand name is something they are simply not going to care about or even want to waste the time to talk about.
