ValueClick shares jump 8% on upgrade

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Shares of ValueClick (VCLK 13.38, +1.07,+8.69%) jumped nearly 8% to $13.27 early Monday morning after the stock was upgraded to a buy rating by Benchmark Equity Research. Analyst Clayton Moran said he believes Google's (GOOG 506.40, +16.25, +3.32%) new Instant Search feature will benefit ValueClick's comparison shopping sites. "Our analysis and channel checks into Google Instant have shown an increased importance for retail keyword terms related to 'coupons' and 'promotions,' due to Google Suggest," Moran wrote. "We believe affiliate marketers may experience a surge in traffic and sales."
