Wfexclusive 10 More Gone!

The Useful (The Useless as I like to call them) have fired 10 more people today.. Yes, in one day. After rumors about The Useful having some troubles in the industry, this story was confirmed by two sources, both inside the company and have been verified as TRUE.

So that's 10 more people added to the list of "you have the day off.. and the next and next and next..etc" from working at The Useful.

What's going on there?! We were told that the first round, and then the second round were just "standard business".. but now, getting rid of 10 people in their tech dept, that's just.. fishy.

I dunno.. not my business to say anything either, but this sounds like a company that is in trouble.

Feedback is always welcome here... so are ex-employees with good info for us (you can email that to [email protected]).

Sad times at theuseful

The firings were unexpected and we lost some good people yesterday. It's quite unfortunate. I expect more fall out from this over the next few weeks.

does not surprise me. The company is moving to Sunrise FL in the near future. I'm sure more people will bail out before then.

Help Not Surprised

The people that quit or have been fired should thank their lucky stars to be out of that sinking ship. There are only a few more chances to jump before this ship goes under.

Their lead quality has been dropping for over a year and their traffic has slowed lately. They treat their advertisers like crap and then wonder why they go elsewhere.

Karma's a bitch.

How are all of these ex-The Useful and current TU employees finding out about WF? I swear, we have more people who come on here and post about them than any other company, ever!

LOL. I love it! Let's organize a WF meet up party for all people once or currently affiliated with TU. It'll be fun. I am an ex employee, all I have to say is that I love the people there, although most of the good ones have already left or are leaving. It's really unfortunate that all this is happening, but everything works out for the best, no matter how shitty it goes down.

Do all of the employees there know about WickedFire and these threads, while the brass seems to be completely in the dark?

How do people know?

People know because of a few individuals who have posted on here, and former and current employers stay in touch. The bottom line is this, those who are former and current employees of TU are good friends or feel like a family in some cases. I enjoy the people I work with, and I miss those who are gone either by layoffs or of their own choosing. The issues that are happening at the TU aren't the result of bad employees, it's the result of bad decisions at the company. The various changes in direction, along with the management bloat, are causing most of the frustrations with the employees. A number of us have gone to our supervisors and voiced our concerns to find they fell on death ears. What more can one do if you and your peers are not being heard. You move with your feet and go elsewhere, where you will be more appreciated and feel that you are contributing to the greater good of a company.

Things were more effective in the past and now it's not. We miss the old days; we got things done then.

As to whether the brass is reading this, the simple answer is "Yes".

So what was the management bloat? Place I used to work was taken over by owner's son and ran straight into the ground. Turnover is over 100% the last 5 years - more oppty's to "upgrade" the talent . . .

GRRR - sorry you are stuck in a shitty place, I can relate, and pass this on to you. Just leave - you'll never get this time back and being miserable in your job is not worth it. You'll hate yourself less in the future . . .

Good luck.

That sucks. Yeah people are still leaving left and right (mostly by choice) there. If it's their goal to make everyone leave they are definitely acheiving it!

Update

Besides the 9 people in technology that were laid off last week, there are 4 people who this week is their last week. In addition, 2 more resignations were turned in this week. I'm waiting for the day when Niuniu resigns.

More resignations

Last week those who resigned after the 9 laid off from technology but before this week left. I think about 6 in all.

This Monday, three high level developers resigned. At this point, they will have to outsource everything, or Niuniu will have to do everything himself. I think management is starting to wonder "well, if I have no one to manage, do I still have a job?"

I think it's just one of those situations where they grew too fast and had all this excess waste laying around. Why does a company that only does promotional marketing need 240+ employee's?

Another high level developer has resigned. The count is now at 4 this week for technology. I think Niuniu will start coding again. =)
