Google Announcement: FiberOp goes to KC Kansas!
Ha Ha, Bitches!
I'm in Overland Park, a suburb of Kansas City Kansas, and the news just announced here (With google's blog post as well) that we're getting the Gigabit fiber! No date set yet but they said they chose KCK (which is pretty much an industrialized slum) because it could be "implemented Quickly" there and would "Do the most good" there. -Of this I have no doubt. I just hope it gets down here to OP.

The question is how much it will cost
 The reason you americans don't have 1gbit lines is becouse the goverment doesn't re-invest money in Cable/Wiring. For example in Bulgaria a 100Mbit Download/50Mbit Upload line costs ~25$. 1Gbit Download/500Mbit Upload costs arround 200$
