Msn $6 BILLION DEAL: Microsoft To Buy aQuantive

This deal makes the Google / DoubleClick acquisition look like chump change.

Breaking - Microsoft to Acquire aQauntive for $6 billion | Marketing Pilgrim

aQuantive is the parent company of Avenue A | Razorfish, Atlas, and DRIVEpm. Some of you may have worked with DRIVEpm (a network), and the other two are very well known companies too.

Woo Hoo - I'm RICH BITCH!

I bought a handful of AQNT and VCLK a couple weeks ago. AQNT at $30 something and VCLK at $27 - kaching!

AQNT doubled!! this morning to $63 and VCLK is at $30 now - was at almost $32 earlier. I'm holding out for $40, but will sell my AQNT.

Unfortunately - i put 80% of my eggs in the VCLK basket - i thought they were they better target.

But long story short - Online advertising and affiliate marketing is HOT and the big boys are noticing. Millnic media is for sale too - first 100MM takes it.

fuck, this market is hot. And people were laughing over Myspace's aquisition price (granted that was a different type of company.) But shit.. makes all of the super affiliate marketers look pretty lame with these types of numbers

That story is a bunch of recycled rumors. Old news. I push fuck loads of that traffic for them in our network. I see the trends, i hear the complaints. I'm far from worried.

Nice one! I got valuclick at $14 a share in late 2006 and gt anq for around $20 share at the same time.

Now the game is when to sell, we only invested under 50k this time because we didn't want to do anything high risk because you never know with these companies.

But nothing beats the google stock increase a few years ago.. talk about turning a $25k investment into a nice little egg.

And those rumors do not seem to be hurting the stock yet...

CPAPIMP has a spectacular aura about

some day I'll invest in one of these companies, but I still have the firm stance that most companies bought in our industry is pure luck, and they really don't hold many assets.

I could think of quite a few that have to go on the "dumbest acquistion" list.
