Yeah, I heard that on SEO Blackhat and made a comment:

"If you consider shop lifting a self correcting problem in that stores raise their prices and hire security guards, then yes, PPC fraud is self correcting. The same could also probably be said of insurance fraud."

"I imagine next time Google is in court of click fraud Schmidt’s statements are going to be brought up by the plaintiff. Sounds like he did not talk to either the PR or legal guys about this one."

Either way its there, and I do my business around it.

Thanks for the link... Wow, what a stupid statement.

On the subject of click fraud, this is an interesting read: http://plentyoffish.wordpress.com/20...ear-mongering/

Neosite has a spectacular aura about
The most interesting thing about this statement (to me) is the degree that it represents how totally bored with the whole business that these guys have become....
I know from my personal experiences that i get bored of things when there isn't that fresh new challenge to them.
It appears that the G boys are getting a bit 'o that themselves....
After all, what more can a person expect to accomplish after they have created revolutionary technology, redefined a whole business model, gone international to a degree with more influence than Coca Cola (the soda) and about as much daily impact to the working world as GE, plus they have become Billionaires, all before the age of 40!

But, that being said, VERY-VERY-VERY STUPID!

More and more people are leaving the adwords business model daily. I know that my web host (who does over $100,000/month) is looking to leave if they can find some other equally productive resource (wherein lies the current 'justification' for the current arrogance)...and a friend of mine just quit his adwords campaign for lack of results (other than a thicker bill from the credit card company).

Google seems to be great at applications, i think it is time for themto take part of that 20% of the work week and apply it to customer service
