Yes. They had a link to try out their new design. if you clicked it and saved their cookie all future login attempts will be with that design. Otherwise it will revert to their old design, until they officially roll it out.

I think there is a little change, but I'm not really sure. I usually get my mail through the link in the Gchat messenger. The boxes where you enter your user do seem bigger or something. Now I'm really not sure.

It's not that different from the old page, really. The colors are a bit different and there's a bar at the top that I'm pretty sure wasn't there before.

they have changed the design a bit but i don't see any point in improving design when you have other things to improve.

Gmail has changed their design and look is very good. Also I checked Google has changed designs of their all products and also providing new themes for all products. I am using webmaster which is also changed by Google.
