Did Google and Microsoft go too far when they suspended the accounts of some 500 advertisers and agents, merely to appease a federal agency who is investigating related companies? Google and Microsoft have effectively shuttered these operations before anyone had a chance to plead their case.
Here's a blog I just posted on this: Google, Microsoft Assume Roles of Judge, Jury and Executioner on the Web · FTC Beat I would appreciate people's thoughts. |

Interestingly enough, it looks like SIGTARP has taken down those press releases which brag about "shutting down" mortgage "schemes." Try to click on the hyperlinks on their site: U.S. Office of the SIGTARP : Press. It may be because, when I asked them yesterday under what authority they shut down the sites, they defaulted to Google's actions.
