Heard this from one of my buddys who works very closely with them. I apologize if this is old news.

Also, I heard that theres a massive potential boycott that may go on against cingular, as they are hijacking the ringtone companys.

Shoe said he has already moved on to other things. Which only verifies the fact that if you want to make it big in an emerging market, you have to do your own tests and dirty work early in the game. I think people go a bit overboard on these. I suspect shoemoney still pushes a ringtone lead or two each month.

Mostly what you have are a lot of people who don't know what they are doing blowing $100.00 adwords and asking why they didn't get any conversions for Dadamobile on Azoogle.

But I agree. Ringtones are dead. Don't promote ringtones, it is a bad, bad idea. Might as well put peanut butter on your money and feed it to your dog. Promoting ringtones will likely cause you to lose all your fingernails, and potentially kidney failure.

Blinko's U.S. CEO moved to another ringtone company months ago...

Cingular and Verizon have recently started their own advertising initiative. Cingular's is pretty agressive.
