Wow... I can't believe they got Scott McCloud to draw it. That guy is a god to cartoonists & comic fans alike.
But yeah, if GC delivers like this comic says it will, then that's going to make for some pretty amazing browsing experiences. I'm just wondering what it's going to do to blackhat techniques like cookie stuffing. Obviously outside sources & sites won't be able to run easily under this sort of setup. Then again, 3rd party plugins may become all the rage again and we'll have a whole new wave of websites that refuse to play until you use their plugin, ala Zango. Thoughts?

Slightly off topic... It's really insane how fast domains get snatched up these days. Within 10 minutes of Google's announcement every domain I could think of was registered.
Bastards.

I thought about trying to get some. What did you include in your list of "every domain I could think of" that was worthwhile getting?

Well not "every domain" really... I was basically looking for forum domains and blog domains.

@subigo - I hit up wordpress, squidoo, blogspot etc straight away and all the subs where gone.
Then i hit the domains. GoogleChrome, ChromeBrowser, ChromeWebBrowser and nothing, all gone and I gave up. Then, just now after reading this thread again, i thought fuck it, I'll take another look and i picked up chromewebbrowsing.com chromewebbrowsers.com So, yeah there are still some decent domains available (at least I think there decent). |

Too late... lol. This guy did what I wanted to do:
Google Chrome - Index 250 users online right now and Chrome just launched 12 hours ago... Oh well. Maybe next time.

So is anyone actually using it yet?
I've got it installed on my desktop. It didn't cure my grandmother's cancer, so I went back to FF3. For regular browsing, it's good. Anything that's got system heavy applets, like YouTube DID load faster, as promised. But there's no noticeable difference on sites that are predominantly text, like this forum. It doesn't have support for any of the cool addons that FF has. I know, being open source, that'll change really quickly... But until that stuff's implemented, it's kinda useless to me (and most of the rest of us here I assume). I also really don't like the terms in the EULA about how anything you type into the browser, they own access rights to.

I like Chrome a lot. It is fast and simple. But also at the same time cannot live without the addons that FF3 provides.

I just went through my addons. They are handy, but I couldn't see them requiring me to use FF exclusively, all the time.
I haven't downloaded Chrome yet. I think Google already spies on me enough between Satellite photography and web beacons.
