Yahoo may prevail over google due to higher conversion rates. I expect with the new yahoo bidding system yahoo will syphon advertisers from google.

We all know adwords sucks ass (which is why people are looking to 3rd tier for PPC arbitrage) so it is a matter of time b4 more advertisers realize this.

It's all about the eyeballs. Google has them and yahoo doesn't. Until yahoo figures out a way to get more of the search market share, they'll be a distant second.

Exactly, this has little to do with conversion rates. It's about Google owning 44% of the search market share vs. yahoo's 29%. Throw in billions of pages of adsense across the web open internationally to any publisher and you've got the ultimate cash cow. Google also encourages better ad placement for publishers while YPN is anal and paranoid about certain tactics. They are going to have to rethink this when they go international if they want to make the same kind of ad revenue. The Adsense program is soooo far ahead in technology I just don't see YPN catching up anytime soon.

Google's search trend has increased nicely over the last year while Yahoo has actually dropped a few points.
