New Vertical Image adsense units

Anyone see these yet, can't wait to try them.

Isn't it ironic that Google has adopted placing images next to the ads when they were lecturing publishers about this very thing?

would love to try it out, but since it's new and beta there are prolly not any advertisers to fill the new image format spot, yet.

True they don't care as long as you set it apart form the ad unit and make it obvious that it isn't part of the ads. Google image ads, however, blend that image right in. Basically do as I say, not as I do.

They saw how well it worked And I believe the official G and Y! stance on it are you have to have a border seperating the ads and the images.

But they don't have a border seperating their images, so they are a bunch of hypocrites.

It sounds to me like that image is linking to a page that has related ads link the current link units do.

I have used thumbnail pics very successfully at driving traffic from one part of a site to another. It makes sense that they would do the same... but that picture sucks! Vibrant colors and detail is what pulls in the eyeballs, not a dull zoomed in rose

I was thinking about this and, in a way, Google is going to screw people who were placing images next to their ads. If an Adsense ad shows up with an image next to it, then their site will have double images. That will just look fucked up.

This was just used to increase CTR. If google does this for you, theres no real need to run the images.

I know there is no need, but people who didn't get the memo (oh, wait there was no memo) won't see it coming and it will make their sites look like ass.

Mine still look the same with Ads by Goooooogle. I'm curious to see what you are talking about, but I know better than to ask for your site's URL.
