Another bad mark on the industry because it is a shady industry.

The FTC is going to crack down on this "fake blog" crap. The marketers will blame the government, but it is the mirror they should be throwing blame at.

If we don't want government regulation, then we can't trick consumers into a hefty rebill with sketchy terms and conditions sold through fake testimonials.

"Sell" a bottle of Acai/ResV supplements = A few dollars(crumbs) for the marketer.
Convert a rebill lead at $30+/per = The reason so many marketers are in this business.

Nearly all of the items/services/solutions that IM'ers promote, they will never, ever use, nor recommend to friends or family(unless there's a commission in it for them). Just the reality of the business.

With that said, I gotta get back to slanging "TV On Your PC" to those not in the "know".

As long as the merchant follows the guidelines and makes the terms and conditions clear to the consumer, ultimately it is the consumer that makes the decision to purchase the product.

Difficult to see the sense of humor in GNS Products. It looks like a new joke which does not have sentence. Customer taken for ride! this ride is no joy

It's more of a select group of marketers giving a select industry a bad name.

There are plently of good RFT's out there, ones that make their money through upsells and cross sells and membership sites. Not of off sketchy re-bills that the consumer is unaware of.

But of course if one Acai RFT is bad they all must be, right?!

I still think the FTC is going to crack down on this big time - I've decided to avoid re-bills altogether.

Just curious, does anyone here actually test the products they slang? Or at least order a rebill yourself with a cheap pre-paid card and see how easy it is to cancel? I fully believe that consumers need to read the fine print and realize that they need to cancel their trial or they will be billed, but if the company makes it impossible to cancel then that's shady.

the only people that would really have to worry about this would be the ones who are private labeling and selling it through the affiliates, not the affiliates themselves.

porn has billed like this for years now, just because its a pill wont change anything

Without the goverment regulation people would feel that their only recourse would be to just go kick someone's ass who was involved. The fact that that is not feasible on the internet as well as the fact that the marketer would then be asking for protection is what makes the goverment presense inevitable...

Think about what would happen if you translated the "shady rebill marketing model" to the wild west, a drug deal, etc. -- someone would be getting shot regardless of the fine print.
