The fact that what you do actually, or how people are interacting with your sites, is valuable informationand that the entire online retail relies on being able to measure certain data in order to further itself.

Na, what will happen is a smaller less known analytics company will emerge through this process.

By the time the German Fed's figure out whats going on the new smaller company will have made a small fortune.

Evangelion is incomprehensible at the best of times.

But as for google becoming big brother, it already is, they read the contents of your gmail, they monitor your searches with igoogle, they read what you write with google docs. But they provide quality services that people find useful. Its a bit like smoking, you know its bad, but you do it anyway.

Places like Germany, whilst full of good intentions are a bunch of interfering do-gooders. Let darwinism take hold and cull the weak from the crop, if the crop gets too stupid then they'll find a way to kill themselves off regardless of how much you babysit them.

We were having a conversation just the other day about how much information we freely give over the internet not counting how we are being tracked every where we go studying our habits and every moves like were in a net ant farm lol.

First the EU cookie law Consent will be required for cookies in Europe | Pinsent Masons LLP now this.
I think this will play out in a similar way ... if anything happens at all. Users will have to give their consent for being tracked.
