That article was written on the 23rd. On the 24th a followup was posted that had the Twitter executive trying to deny the March timeframe.

Meh, tweets ads in the feeds, with #paid hashtags.. why can't they just have cpc/cpm banner/text ads in the sidebar like everyone else??

That'd work fine for users of the web interface. There are tons of alternative twitter clients that don't display the twitter sidebar. Unfortunately, the only way to get ads to all twitter users would be to have ad tweets. :/

Don't get too excited, folks!

Unless they'll show ads then users write tweets as opposed to reading them this thing is not going to make any money.

People come to twitter to write about the useless crap that they do, not to read about other people's useless crap. Hardly anyone ever reads those 50+ million daily tweets.
