Review Guidelines

1. You cannot ask for or do reviews if you have less than 200 posts and at least 10 itraders.

- If you pay full price for a service, you are allowed to give FEEDBACK on the service, but you cannot take a discounted review copy or a free review copy unless you meet the requirements.

2. If you take a review and do not give a detailed report, or plan on doing a fake review and your outed there will be consequences, or if you take a review and do not provide the report within a reasonable amount of time there will be consequences.

3. If a provider is offering a free review, it is ok to ask for it, if they are not offering a review do not beg for one.

Here is a sample template suggested by dchuk for the Links & SEO section reviews.

Give a score of 1 to 5 and also a 2 to 3 sentence write up for each one.

This is a suggestion by jryan21 for the "content" section.

In the content section, when someone new starts a thread, respond to them with something like, '500 words on the mating habits of pterodactyls, post it in the thread when you're done.' Make the difficulty of the topic match their price.

This will:

- eliminate bullshit reviews
- allow them to demonstrate their research skills
- keep the beggars off the thread
- allow prospective customers to make their own judgment call

for links and other (verifiable)SEO work, they could do their work on makemoniesonline and have them post the report to their thread.

I'm still confused, while reputed members are giving discounted reviews. Just wanted some clear picture on this.

However,

I came across the same thing, that SEOdon has mentioned, "SerVices4u" has posted the same thing again. I wounder if "SerVices4u" is a competitor of seodon targeting to get him banned. Since, he has only 5 posts and knows the complete rules of the forum.

A clarifications from the mods would solve everything here.

Seeing as I'm involved in this furore I may as well give my side to entertain this [seemingly bitter] jester.

I ordered 2 packages, the fact one has 'Review' in the name is irrelevant to me when there was no stipulation to do anything more than pay, the size of each package matched my requirements. End of.

I have no interest in getting discounts in exchange for written service reviews, never have and probably never will do.

SerVices4u, I suggest you put your time and energy into building your own business rather than dubiously trying to sabotage others. You've already wasted enough of my time.

After seeing that most of the unqualified members were banned for taking advantages of review, I agree with SerVices4u. But, maybe Telva is right. It's better to go along in building your own business for good, rather than wasting your time in scavenging the BST fourm. I doubted only cos, your words seems forcing the mods to ban seodon, since there are many other providers doing the same. Doesn't want to get personal, just said what came to my mind as you have posted the same thing again and again.

Usual suspects are newish service providers with high post counts, who are logged in all the time and jump on any review going, usually in minutes. Even the reviews they leave are starting to look similar!

Could we have a rule limiting reviews to once a week or something? then we could get some different opinions for a change.

Sounds fair, but how can this be monitored?

IMHO people should be punished not for taking review copies very often, but for placing "good reviews" no matter what quality reviewed service has.

Personally I take review copies from time to time, but as you can see from my reviews, I always post pure facts (PR, OBL, quality of content, Index and other info regarging resources where I get links from). Thus, a lot of my reviews open some nagative sides of the services. And I'm shocked every time I see some guys with 200 posts and 10 iTraders or so writing that the same service is great and they recommend it to other members.

The idea of giving review copies to reputed members is a good one, other users are supposed to rely on those reviews and it really sucks when you read a good review, order a service and get some shitty quality.

So, what do you think about making higher requirements to reviewers?

It is very easy to go back and look at users who are just here for free reviews.
