Hey guys,
I'm new here but a relatively experienced marketer with little success under my belt unfortunately. I spent a couple years chasing biz-opps and shit until I realized that all they were doing is regurgitating direct response marketing and Dan Kennedy's ideas under different brands. Finally I figured out affiliate marketing is what I want to do.
A couple of questions, and I've read through all the threads recommending various things, I have purchased Perry Marshall's book on Adwords since it seems to be the bible for it and so far I've gotten accepted to Copeac and MaxBounty and spoken with my affiliate managers.
Just a couple of questions-
1. When I'm tracking clicks to my landing page, I understand that I have my designer or whoever enter in the tracking code for Google Analytics, or I can use Prosper202 or whatever. What do I use for tracking from the landing page to the offer and from the offer page to the conversion page? Is there a comprehensive solution that can be end to end?
2. I've been constantly clicking banners and bookmarking landing pages for weight loss, acai, car insurance, biz-opps, etc and all these landing pages seem to be lacking good copy, or any real copy for that matter. I know they're supposed to be advertorials but on landing pages, as opposed to sales letters, can the copy be weaker since it's just supposed to entice someone to click ahead as opposed to buying?
3. When I use the Google Website optimizer and I enter in the control landing page and its variations, does the website optimizer literally create on the fly a different version each time to test all the variations, or is it that lets say I have two different headlines and two different pictures, I upload 4 variations of my landing page and it simply rotates among them?
4. I've heard and read from alot of advertisers that PPC is too expensive for a small time guy with a small budget to get started with, and often that PPV can be cheaper to test. Is that true?
5. And this is a newbie question but I really need someone to explain this to me. Are the image ads on Facebook the kind of ads that run on the Google Content Network, and are there any resources you guys would recommend for learning the Content Network?
