Question PPC Test Run Question

I'm not trying to sound like a newbie, so I'm going to try to explain my question as descriptive as possible.

If you had a PPC campaign running with over 50-75 clicks to it, and 0 leads, what would be your first thought?

The leads in question are a "put in your e-mail address" and get paid type.

Double check the ad's?
Double check the keywords?
Check the merchants landing page (not using my own..)?
Try a new offer?

Where would you believe the problem would lie (obviously it could be any of them ...)?

I've been struggling with getting a successful campaign for a little bit now, trying to narrow down what the problem could be.

Thanks for the help, and I apologize if I sound like a complete and utter newbie, tried to sound somewhat "non-pathetic".

Well if they're clicking then it's not the ads cause they're clicking (mind you I'm making an assumption that based on those numbers your CTR is ok ), how relevant was your adwords ad to the content of the landing page?

Make your own lander, put yourself in the shoes of the people that are clicking your ad, and what would you expect to see that would keep you intersted in the process that would generate you a lead?

Tweak it till you start seeing some change.

You need to think about every step of the process. Why are those people clicking on your ads? I mean what specifically are they looking for. If your ad is too general, you might be getting a lot of untargetted traffic.

If you have a specific goal in mind for a specific person, and your merchant's landing page confirms then you should be able to convert more.

Think about the overall search process and double-check to see if you are actually giving the searcher what they want.

Actually, just improved a little. New KW research as well as a new offer, $1.80 out and $3.70 in so doing well so far. With Azoogle and traffic through Google.

My actions would depend on a lot of things.

If it was an unknown traffic source I might assume the source was crap, but would likely test it out with other offers to be sure.

I might also think the e-mail submit is scrubbed to venus and back and worthless. But if it is converting with other traffic sources, then I would again think the traffic is crap.

I would also check my keywords see which ones are getting traffic. In some cases only a couple keywords can get almost all the traffic, and if one of them is questionable or bad, it can skew all your results. So I would check that as well.

I find submits to be a pain for me in PPC just because the payout is so small, and the cost to get clicks too high. You can make slim margins on them, but rarely will you find one where they convert like you might expect.

Logically you think, someone is interested, why would not like EVERYONE put in their zip code. Or at worst case 50%, but a lot of people don't, the just leave. And of course the source is probably scrubbing those that do, and the rest.

Those systems are fine tuned to make the advertiser good money, a little bit harder for everyone else.

Just put yourself in the shoes of potential leads.

Is your (or your merchant's) landing page REALLY selling the product, or is just a bunch of bullshit that looks like complete crap?

A good landing page is everything. Trust me. If the merchant doesn't have any good landing pages, then all the pre-selling in the world isn't going to help. In that case, find a new offer to promote.
