Question AFFILIATE MARKETING: Work with a network or set up my own?

I'm going to be launching my eCommerce site soon. I wanted to find out from site owners if you think its more effective to work with an affiliate network or to manage your own programs in house.

To me some of the network pros are that you can open it up to more people right away. What are some of the downsides?

Any input?

@mia,

You should def. start your own. You will be making way more than you would with other networks, which is basically taking half you earn. But if you're not new to this type of niche, you might want to get your feet wet and try them out first. Learn the ropes and don't trick over

Here is the real deal:

Affiliate: Hello, partys, good times, fishing, and fun and bitches! Good money, nothing crazy baller. But some serious bank, when I was a pub. I worked 15mins a day and made over 15k a month. I was outside every day getting sun, beach.

Network: Say goodbye to your life. Work night and day. Constantly being at others beck an call. Welcome to the world of eye twitches and teeth grinding. No time to date. No vacations ever! More money, more problems! Constant lawsuits.

Here is a better question, why did you joint this industry in the first place?

Freedom or Money

Now you tell me which one you wanna be?

If you're new(ish) - I would recommend joining a network first. There's plenty of posts on here ranking/dissing/praising/evaluating them so take an objective look and choose a few to test out.

Then once you've got some quality traffic going, then you can evaluate whether to stay on the network or go out on your own.

OP - If I understand your question correctly, you run an ecommerce site, and are looking for affiliates to promote your products. You want to know whether you should manage the program yourself, or use an outsourced affiliate program manager.

Without having ecommerce experience, my sense is that the answer will depend on your volume. If you are just getting started, you may be able to get things going with ShareASale, CJ, or other CPS networks, and manage it yourself. If you are doing a lot of volume, and will be working with a lot of affiliates, you may want to consider an outsourced program manager. You could bring this function in-house if you have the resources and can find the right person to manage it.

Note: Most of the discussion on this forum is CPA related, so you may also want to ask on some sites that cater to ecommerce merchants.

It depends on how much experience you have, budget and volume.

If you are a small merchant, joining an established network like CJ, Google Affiliate Network can definitely get you a head start... but these networks need you to commit for a contract (with minimum monthly fee + network fee, etc)

If you run your own program, the biggest issue in the beginning is how you acquire affiliates that can do volume to join your program.

Take advantage of the affiliate marketing programe like cpc cpv. This will help you earn more money from your site. Today setting up a website is very easy thing but earn money from that,a common option is affiliate marketing.so visit Edmoz.com and start earning through cpv.
