Help Question about comments and profile rules

Hi there

Our company is busy revamping our website and I need to create all the legal bits for the site. I have done the disclaimer and privacy policy and all those. Now I want to put together some 'rules' for comments left on the site and also for profiles, profile pics, forum avatars and so on. I have scoured the web searching for examples and I'm having no luck at all.

We are a training company, fairly serious and professional, so I am not looking for funny or rude rules.

Can anyone point me in the direction of some good examples to get me started, please?

And any suggestions on what I should include would be welcome. What I have so far is the usual no obscene, vulgar, etc messages; no spam

On profile pics I have a size - width, height and file size, but not sure how to phrase rules about what types of pics won't be allowed. I haven't decided if we are going to allow sigs yet, but if we do I will need some rules for that.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Ok, I have been sweating away at this today, and have come up with this so far. Please add or suggest changes:

Comments rules:
Comments are public.
All comments will be checked before they are added to the site.
Do not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually orientated, hateful, threatening or violate any laws.
Be courteous to other users of the site.
Do not post spam messages.
You can also email us at [email protected] if you would like us to put a comment up for you. But please let us know if we can use it as is, and whether you want to remain anonymous.

Profile Images:
Your image will be resized if needed to a maximum dimension of 200 pixels width x 300 height automatically, but your image file should not exceed 5000 KB.
Images should not be vulgar or sexual.
Do not use an image that you do not have the right to use.
Do not use an image of a person’s face, except your own, unless you have their permission to do so.
Do not use an image of a child under any circumstances.

You seem to have everything down, nothing is really in need changing. Repsect for other is a key thing on websites but its hard to maintain if you arent on your toes. its the lack of kindness towards other on this thing we call the internet.

Your rules for images are great as well. you never know who will be browsing your site and what they might see reading comment. so keeping with nothing that can offend any one is great way to start.
