I was wondering how you can check if your mail has been opened by people?

I have a site that gets a few visitors, and I send out a sales letter but with little results - so I am curious whether they are even opening the mail?

I am thinking if there's an image or something that can be tested for a load (for html mails) then we can know if the mail has been opened.

Any help much appreciated!

If you use a hosted solution such as aweber or mailchimp, they will track it for you.

That's right. I know for sure Mailchimp has the feature to do this! Check them out.

Hmmm OK I've spent a few days building my own email system so was hoping to do it,errm, technically ... ?

When sending out mails from aweber do the mails get received "from aweber" or "from MyBusiness.com" ?

Pointofmail works like a charm! Tells you if email has been sent, opened, links have been clicked on, email has been fwded, etc
