Fuckyeah Do I need a PIMP server?

Hey,

I'm up to about 10 sites now, all hosted on hostgator.

I like the fact that it's $9.99 a month, but I'm starting to make some good cash, and thinking about upgrading.

I'm not too familiar with each type, dedicated/VPS, whatevs, and I was interested if anyone has any suggestions, and the benefits of each, when is it a good time to change...

Thanks for any help!

Prolly over all the sites about 1000 visitors a day. But I expect that to at least double within the next 1-3 months...

LOL, sounds like your cash is burning a hole in your pocket.

There is no need to upgrade unless there is a NEED!

As long as your current host has the resources to handle the traffic you are good.

If you truly expect more traffic that can be handled, I would suggest
another shared hosting account on a different provider (just for diversity
and for you to gain experience with providers).

If you get a second provider, move one or two of your current sites
over to the new host. More good experience in doing that.

They are right in their mindset. In the beginning, you need to bootstrap, but shared hosting accounts are just shitty. I'd test the load time of your sites, and I'm willing to bet its not good.

Get a VPS. Chances are there are 18 other people on your server scrapeboxing and slowing down your websites. Wiredtree is running a special where you get a vps for $25 for the first two months. I'm sure you can find some other great deals. Check out webhostingtalk.com.

Whatever you decide to do make sure you check out webhostingtalk for some deals. All the major players always have some shiny deals goin on. You can probably find a cheap dedi for like $80.
