Help Affiliate marketing

Dear all,

Your help would be very much appreciated in answering a few basic questions below. I have a site that is about to go live and wish to use affiliate marketing but would be grateful for a few pointers.

1. Can you use more than one affiliate program in the same position (e.g. skyscraper)?
2. If so, can the adverts be targeted in relation to geographical location? the reason I ask is that I obviously do not want adverts for the UK to be displayed to those in the USA and vice versa.
3. How are you able to rotate adverts? Do affiliate marketing programs provide the capabilities for this?

Basic questions I know but very much appreciate any help given.

Many thanks.

In most cases, you are free to run as many different affiliate programs as you wish, but they are not going to handle your ad space for you. It is possible to target banners geographically and have them run in a rotation, but you need to get yourself an ad server. I'm not sure if there are any free options out there, but you can probably find a solution with a little bit of digging. best of luck

You should use OpenX. It's free up to a certain level and then not expensive for their enterprise version.

You can serve up ad content based on geography, content, or any number of other factors, it really depends on whether you are capturing that information to begin with.

Google also has an adserver but I found it more complicated to configure when compared to OpenX.

Using a good CMS like wordpress can give you more flexibility in my opinion. You can use simple plugins to get more functions going on. its much easier than coding to get these functions going on.

it depends upon which affiliate program you are using. there are various options available for ad rotation like adsense manager in wordpress and ad rotator in asp.net

Affiliate marketing has emerged to be a major source of generating income for the investors in the current market scenario. It has been proved beneficial not only for the brokers or the persons running affiliate business, but also for its affiliates to subscribe to an efficient and profitable affiliate program for growing their business further.

Affiliate marketing is a joint venture between the two parties to reach the customer. You will have to pay one or more parties depending on the route the customer has taken to reach you.
