Does anyone out there know of a list of 'dofollow' forums for quick backlink building?

Dofollow? I think you mean no nofollow. Why don't you search doing a google search for the forum your site's niche is in, and look at the source code to see if there is nofollow?

Yeah, go to a forum, find a thread with a link in it and then click on view source and do a search for nofollow.

Once warning, I am doing it in dofollow forums with legitimate posts and while they do generate traffic, I can't find many of the links at all in the either Yahoo or Google.

Sorry, I meant dofollow in terms of I was looking for forums that did not have the "nofollow" attribute applied.

I've started my own list, largely based on the forums I visit, or have visited. It'll grow larger as time goes on.

It is! I was using the firefox plugin from SEOBook but I don't think I ever got it going to its full potential. For me anyway, this one is a lot simpler, but then, I'm am a dim witted idiot! :P

Use greasemonkey instead. Get a script like this
: Nofollow display – Userscripts.org

It's lighter weight, easier to customize, and can be switched on and off easily.
