Newbiealert ahrefs and social bookmarks

I know I have over 100 live bookmarks for that one MFA but ahrefs only showing 3 total . I thought a link is a link is a link

Why such a discrepancy?

Maybe they are not crawl'd yet. Bookmarking sites, especially those "spammy" ones, do not get crawled regulary. It could take up to several weeks.

However, when did you create those bookmarks?

Ahrefs shows usually only 1/3 what you can find in Google Webmaster Tool or what Yahoo Search Explorer was showing.

For me it's always been opposite. I never see the bulk of my backlinks in Google Webmaster Tools. I know Google is aware of them because I see my website fluctuate as I add backlinks, but they don't officially recognize them in Google Webmaster Tools. I use a combination of ahrefs.com and backlinkwatch.com, but I don't think there really is one available out there that is going to show truly everything.

FYI, I have about 120 high quality backlinks for my new website, several directory links, and several blog commenting links... backlinkwatch.com still shows 0 and ahrefs.com shows 26 so far. I have pinged all of the high quality links, still not all are officially indexed or maybe they haven't even been found yet.

That was about 2 months ago. I sent them all to pingdevice several times over. This MFA is #1 for its keyword, that is why I am confused hehe.

There's no 100% way to count backlinks, especially since the different search engines use different indexing rules. Google has never fully disclosed all backlinks for a specific website, so you can only get estimates.

Keep building and if you're ranking then it's safe to assume your links are getting indexed!

Scrape Box is a very useful and powerful tool. Make sure not to blast your main site, safe route is to blast your social bookmarks, 2.0s etc...

Also make sure you filter your lists for porn links, use blog analyzer to check or malware, and filter by pagerage for the best results.

I learned from a senior member here that SB is 85% filtering/checking list.

Compared to Majestic AHREF and OSE are very slow at picking up new links.

For example a new site <30 days old shows 1 BL on AHREF and 0 on OSE but Majestic has picked up 500+.

Give it a few days / weeks and OSE and AHREF will pick it up.

If you can't wait get a Majestic Sub, but google probably already knows so I wouldn't stress.
