Newbiealert Content: Cost/Benefit?

Hey Guys,

When starting a new site, should I be concerned about progressively adding new content over the first few month? Or once I start ranking, should I stop and move on to bigger and better things?

Thanks in advance.

I've found that there's no reason to keep adding content unless it's because you want to promote more items and/or turn it into an authority site. As far as ranking a site goes, you can do just fine with 1 page of content and an about/privacy policy page.

If you are building an authority site then update continuously.
Especially if you are planning to keep your search engine ranking.
However if you only plan on earning with a few ads then I must say move on to your next plans.

If you are promoting something, let's say products or services; then keep adding content. If you want to drive traffic, then pass some articles on high authority directories such as ezine. Also, don't forget to create good back links. Your articles should contain relevant keywords. The articles should be of high quality too.

The longer you keep adding fresh content to your site, the more repeat viewers you will have coming back to read your site. Some sites may not need repeat visitors, and more content is not mandatory. It depends on your site's topics.

You do more than the website in the position you want. A one shot 3 page site might not beat that spot and adding a new page twice a week could be over kill. The current website determines the effort.

I think you should have enough content to look like an established site, but not so much that you overwhelm the reader. You want them to leave satisfied, but wanting more.

for this kind of websites, you should always put something new for the readers to crave for. And so I think you should put continuously the articles.
