Lodgey has a spectacular aura about
Newbiealert Adsense CPC going down

I had a quick check on my adsense earlier and could see my days earnings, with an average cpc at £1.51. I then checked it again half an hour later, same amount of clicks but my balance had gone down and my cpc was down to £0.53?

Anyone else notice clicks that you have already received devaluing?

I don't exactly know why Google does this, but it's just an estimate until it's official. They only guess what you made until a day or two later. In this case you might be upset, but sometimes the CPC increases, leaving you pleasantly surprised.

From what I've read, devalued clicks are actually invalid clicks. Each one would still be counted in your total, though. If they are deemed invalid after the fact, then they just change the payment amount to zero. That's my understanding of it.

I thought invalid clicks were when you had clicked them yourself?

It's not uncommon for your CPC to fluctuate. And invalid clicks could come from more than just your own IP. If a visitor presses on an ad by accident and therefore surfs for just microseconds, for example, it could be deemed as an invalid lead by Google.

AdSense is such a roller coaster ride, you're better of not checking your stats too often.

That's true. If you check your stats several times a day, it gets really frustrating.

Depends mostly on what the individual advertiser has bid for the traffic. It can vary with each ad. Just because one ad pays high doesn't mean the rest do.
