Thank you so much! I didn't know there are TONS to learn about internet/affiliate marketing

I'll be sure to check out the links provided. I guess if I want to earn from this venture, I need NOT ONLY to work hard but
also to shell out some substantial amount of money. I just hope it would be worth all the effort and time (and cash!)
To start out should not have to cost you a lot of money. So long as you have a computer and internet access you can actually start out with no money if you go to someplace like Click Bank and then promote products with your affiliate links posted in articles that you write for article sites like
ezines.
Though not as profitable as it use to be, you can still give it a shot and it won't cost you anything.
Ok, so let's give this a quick run down for intial costs to start out VERY basic and do it with the minimal that you really should have.
1.) Hosting- $8 a month for a decent starter account with unlimited domain name hosting and (So-Called) unlimited traffic on shared hosting. I say so-called because if your site does well and the traffic gets to high you will HAVE to up grade your hosting to at least a VPN at that time. Which is actually a GOOD thing provided the traffic is earning you money.
BTW, VPN (Virtual Private Netwrok) on a hosting provider just means that you'll have/should have at least ONE dedicated IP address (Not shared with others on the computer they have your site on.) and that they will setup a VIRTUAL computer to run your site with dedicated resources to handle your traffic and programs. They can increase your virtual space as you grow quite easily but of course it will cost you more money to have a better more powerful VPN. There is really NO NEED for a VPN to start out. It's very easy to transfer your site up to a VPN when the time comes.
2.) Register a Domain Name- About $12 annually with "Private Registration" for a TLD (Top Level Domain) such as .com, .net or .org
Now, keep in mind that after you register that domain name and set it up on your Hosting Provider you can have an UNLIMITED number of subdomains created on that ONE NAME for FREE. (Provided you get a hosting package that allows this, the one suggested above does.) No need to register anything or pay again.
While it is usually better to have separate domains for for each different thing you promote, you can still do QUITE well by using a subdomain.
"I" actually like using sub-domains when promoting other people's stuff in case they quit offering the item. If that happens, I just save all the pages from the subdomain onto an external drive (You never know when you might be able to put all that created content to use again for something else.) and then delete the subdomain. No fuss no muss and now I don't have a DEAD EMD (Exact Match Domain) laying around that I have renew each year or to let it die and be out the registration fees..
The other thing I like about subdomains is that you can name it pretty much whatever you want and NOT have to try and register something you want only to find that it is taken.
Here's an example. Let's say you wanted to promote "Fleshlights". Well if you go try to register the
Domain Name Fleshlights you'll see that all common TLD's are all taken. But, lets say you registered and own the domain name 123.com for example.
Well, now you just go ahead and make fleshlights.123.com as a subdomain. Then you would setup pages under that subdomain and then do your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for you keyword and now the keyword is the first word of you subdomain as well. (Learn about
Robot.txt files and what they do.)
You can also setup promotions in subdirectories if you like. 123.com/fleshlights and then your pages would go into that folder. And you'd do the same as above. But "I" prefer to use subdomains or separate domains as they're much easier to transfer if needed due to growth/traffic.
3.) Get Autoresponder: Aweber- $19 a month and right now (at the time of this post 3-26-2012.) it would seem they are offering a $1 first month trial. Again, until you are established and have decided just how you're going to be making money online you should pay this MONTH to MONTH as well. (Try to stay away from contracts that will have you STUCK and immobile just to save a few bucks.)
4.) GET a CMS (Content Management System)-
Wrodpress is FREE and the easiest to find info on.
I also like
Drupal, but for just starting out WP will be your best bet. Drupal is a little more Robust in "my" opinion and both WP and drupal are PHP based systems. (I put the link here just to let you know it's out there and would a familiar option after having used WP for when your sites get HUGE!! GRINNN
So, let's see here....at the time of this post you can get a Domain Name with private registration, Hosting with unlimited traffic (Cough, Cough,...but don't worry you'll be fine. lol) and unlimited domains and subdomains and an Aweber account with an auto responder and FREE sign up/Opt-In templates for...................wait for it.......... A Grand Total of ...
$21 U.S.D to begin as the UP FRONT costs.
Then it would be around
$30 a month to have your site/sites up with an auto responder and the ability to start GROWING A LIST!! (
Less than ONE pizza night at my place or about a HALF TANK of gas these days!!)
But, the good news is that you can start without Aweber, so it would be $20 get started and then about $8.50 a month thereafter.
So, there you go. It works out to about $360 a year for hosting and an Autoresponder service. Then the annual domain registration fee and the Private Registration fee which comes to around $12.
$375 a year total for the solid basics. or $102 hosting+ $12 domain name = $114 a year for the BARE minimun. (Yes, I rounded UP but did not include taxes in my calculations. I add THIS for the MATH CRITICS on WF!!! Lulz)
So, to get started won't cost that much "money" at all.
TIME to learn, DO, and TEST will be your largest investment to Begin with.
You DON'T need Market Samurai, Xrummer, SEnuke, or PEMIUM themes to start out. TRUST me, the time it will take you to learn how to even use these and other simalar tools properly when you first start out will HURT your intial money making more than they could ever help you right now.
As you create sites and promote stuff you'll start to understand how things work and then at a later time you might want to invest in such tools. No sense in getting those tools before you understand how web marketing even works in the real world. Only after some time of doing this will you be able to really understand what those tools do and how they do it for you.
I know this all sounds like so mcuh to take in, but when it's taken ONE STEP AT A TIME and in the PROPER order you'll see that it makes sense and will be MUCH simpler for you to do than it seems now.
Take Care and I wish you well
Good Luck!!!! (Keep in mind that the more you do this, the LUCKIER you get!! Lulz)
