Today I decided that I would do a bit of a more advanced topic on traffic generation. Somewhat sneaky too, albeit effective.

Is it even possitble to GET THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE TO SUBSCRIBE TO YOUR RSS FEED?

Indeed it is. This whole project of mine today came about when I realised that I had to fulfill 3 requirements to ensure that thousands of people would subscribe to my RSS feed.

1. I would need to have my RSS feed displayed on an extremely high traffic site where there are millions of people constantly browsing that site so that if even a fraction of people visited the part which had my RSS feed to click on, I would still be able to convert a relatively number of people to feed subscribers. So where would I get such a high traffic site?

2. I would have to give them an incentive for wanting to subscribe to my feed. Why would they want to do such a thing?

3. I would have to make the process a repeatable process so that I could propagate the system and ensure that I would eventually get extremely high amounts of traffic.

So I thought about it and hit upon a solution.

This is a facebook application that I created which includes an RSS feed of this website! Facebook, as I already mentioned in an earlier post, is an extremely high traffic source, and will have more and more people subscribing to my RSS feed over time! I would suggest that you guys add the application yourself so that you can see it in action as the pictures simply do not do it justice.

Kah-Ching! will continue to grow over time and as it does, more people will invariably end up subscribing to this feed.

I would also say that it would have a better click through rating and speed of propagation compared to something like...blogrush? (*sniggers*). Obviously, there are those of you who would like to take this idea further of course. I mean why not right? (Contact me if you would like to set up a mashup for facebook with an Affiliate system setup). Furthermore, I am not sure if this post will get as much exposure as you think it should...so if you know any wickedfire member out there that might be interested in this..PM em and tell em about it. Who knows what kinda ideas might be generated by bouncing ideas around? =) Anyway.....

Is it genius or what? (If you want to know what the "incentive/sales pitch" at the moment to add the application, visit the link. If you can think of a better incentive...let me know)

So basically, what youre saying is, this Facebook app will get data from any choosen rss feed, and display it on YOUR profile / My profile ? ?

so basically it is an application that show your RSS feed on someone profile if he installed that application...

so here is the question, how do you get people to install your application?
