I am a noob... so don’t kill me
I would like to know what will have a better effect?
A page with a video or a top ten list (or any list considering that the copy will be unique)
I will be using organic and ppc (long tail) to generate traffic

What the fuck kind of question is this.

You're going to make a page with a video on it of Beyonce dancing or a Letterman'esque top ten list of ways to dump your girlfriend, and you're going to do exactly what with that? Spend PPC money to get people to come?

Sounds like a big attraction. You should put an email opt-in on that full-featured page of yours so you can grow a list of people that like stupid ideas.

Answering the question... well, trying to answer the question. You didn't give much info. Can you please be more specific? You said you want to go PPC, how are you going to monetize your webpage (because I assume you're not spending money as a Valentine's present to Google)?

The topic of the site is pick up lines. The Income will come from a combo of banners and adsense.

Every situation and landing page is unique.

My advice: Do both and some A/B split testing to figure out which works better in your case.

If your going to make your money off of PPC then link it to a Clickbank product or something like that. I'm sure there are some that are relevant to your topic.
There is no way that you'll make any money off of PPC if your revenue is from Adsense.
