Help PayPal questions, please answer.

Alright, I have a few questions regarding PayPal as this is my current situation.

My friend is holding $411.00 on his PayPal for me. I am only 16 years old and don't have a PayPal account.

First, I would need to create a PayPal account with my real name, and address, along with my real bank account so I could transfer the money into it.

What I'm asking is does PayPal check if you're underage? And if I am underage, am I at any legal risk for using it? Or is the worst they will do is to simply limit my account.

Second, by putting my real address and bank account on there, does PayPal ever send things in the mail? Because I can't really have things popping up from them at my house, let alone phone calls, which brings me to my second question, if I put my real phone number, will they call me?

Sorry for all the questions, but all in all, I simply need to know if I can open a PayPal account with my real name and address, but a fake birthdate. Receive the $411.00 from him, then add my checking account to it, and get the money transferred. Is this possible and will they mail me or call me during this?

Thanks.

I know you can register if you are underage but you need a credit card to be able to transfer money out of paypal into your bank account.

The easiest thing you can do is have your friend request a check from paypal for $411, all you need is a bank account (under your name) and some form of id (if your 16 you should have some) to cash it, or you can just get the check under your parents name and have them cash it.

Unless it's changed I'm fairly sure they WILL call you (an automated thingy) to verify details once you receive over a certain amount. No idea if you have to be over 18 or not, sorry.

Virtual has a spectacular aura about
its better to open a new paypal account under your parents name. get your money transfered and YES paypal might just call to confirm.

so to be a safer side .. involve someone who is eligible to receive this payment for you.

Hope it helps!

Paypal is a joke.
They call and verify your cell number when utilizing paypal mobile.
You run the risk of them calling your 6 times a day when you account goes 21 cents in the red.
All you need is Credit card information matching your address (could be a relative, the do not charge you, they put a $1 hold on the card for verification that is gone within 3 business days) and then bank information. Putting a false birthday will still get you an account.

Watch out though (heres the killer)
PayPal can and WILL freeze your account for any actuvuty they deem as "suspicious."
Suspicious activity could include signing up for an account on day 1, getting $411.00 on day two, and withdrawing it to a bank account on day 3.
Im not saying this WILL happen, it just does.
And if they freeze your shit, especially being under 18, goodluck getting it back before their "180 day maximum hold" which is a hell of a long time to wait on 400 bones.

Thats a good read Demonez, I had no fucking clue that they were going to sanction mandatory 21-day holds on "high risk" sales.
Must be all the xBox360 and PS3 buyers that got duped into paying $3-$500 dollars for "How to get one from somewhere cheap" informational shit.

Alright, so if I put a fake birthdate and a fake phone number, but real name and address, I can open an account and never hear from PayPal?

And as long as I don't get in negatives, which I won't, as I'll only be receiving payments from one person, the worst that could happen would be to have my account limited and having to wait 180 days, correct?

So by putting my real checking account on my new account I'm going to create, they don't verify age, do they?

That's about it, thanks for the replies so far guys.
