Newbiealert text on opening page......

noobie here, please no laughing

ok, so i've read somewhere that if you have text or keywords on your opening page that has nothing to do with your website content - the same color as your background that you can get blacklisted from search engines

for example, you're selling vacums but you have keywords such as PORN,SEX,FREE etc etc.

but..

what if the text on that first page is text that pertains to your content, the fact that it is hidden (same color as background) would you still potentially be blacklisted from search engines?

i have a site that does this, the reason why i keep the text the same color as the background is because my opening page is sort of a splash page. I just kept the text there so that search engines can pick it up.

there is no reason to even have unrelated hidden content. Back in the day, before Adsense and affiliate marketing where mature, guys would promote porn sites using this method. But, you can make hundreds, even thousands of times more money when the monetization aligns with the web site content.

That couldnt be more on target. Plus, hiddentext is like staright google ban. THey will laugh at your ass while they blacklist you. On top of that hiddentext is circa 1995 wen nobody knew anything. Monetization is the way to go. Dont worry though when we all started we all had the same question. Dont lie we have all thought about it when we first got into this.
