Checkthisout No more excuses

Most of you know me, and most of you know I actually enjoy helping n00bs if possible. Granted some n00bs are just too fuckin' stupid to help, but we (Wickedfire) still try.

So, in an effort to help some of you out, here's what I've got:
  1. A bunch of domain names I'll probably never use
  2. A VPS that is barely getting used
  3. Not enough time to hold your hand
Back to serious...

What I'm offering to you (not all of you, just a few) is this:
  1. A free domain name. FCFS (look it up if you don't know what that means). You won't get to keep the domain, unless you EARN it and want to pay for it ($10, big whoop)
  2. Hosting on my VPS
  3. Some help getting started.
Too often I see people complaining that they can't afford to get into online marketing, or they don't know how, or they've read everything and are still stupid (can't help the last bunch much...too dumb). So, I'm removing some of the excuses. FREE domain name, FREE hosting. Can't beat that with a stick.

Oh, and what do I want out of it? A link from your site, or a box of cookies. Really I want to hear some success stories. Something like:

Quote:
Before Wickedfire, I was a stupid n00b. Then SEO_Mike took pity on me and I'm a dot com millionaire
Yeah, that sounds good.

Anyhow, here are the domains you can choose from:
GLITTERGRAFIX.INFO - mediastar100
IGOURMET.ORG - xraymikek
MUTTUALFUND.COM - morgantrader
PRODAMIPHONE.COM - newbie2008
REALSTUDENTLOAN.COM - netpwnage
SECURELOANFACTS.COM - getbig
THECELLULARSITE.COM - hazzan
TOPLOCALDOCTOR.COM - tyler03
TOPLOCALLAWYER.COM
AUTOMATICMONSTER.COM - BlueMendicant
CONTENTLINKS.ORG - erect
DECEPTICONSRISING.COM
EDITORIALIZE.ORG - JamesH
EMORTGAGERATES.NET
FANTASYPINUPART.COM - AtomBoy
FOREXPROFESOR.COM - real1022
GADGETLAB.INFO - patrick24601
HONDAACCORDCAR.COM - mattgatten
LOCALBANKSEARCH.COM - CCLIND
PINKAPPLEMACBOOK.COM - Lavish
PROSEOTOOLS.NET - blueRAP
SANTARADAR.NET - amateursurgeon
TRANSFORMERS2009.COM - SEO_Mike

How do you get to keep your chosen domain? Put up a site on your free hosting account and make some money with it, then pay me $10. I will NOT give or sell you the domain UNLESS you actually earn some money with it. Weird, huh? Nope, I figure if I can remove some of your excuses, then I have the right to say whether or not you get to keep the domain.

In short, you have to prove to me that you made money within 30 days to keep your domain name. If you make more than $100 in that 30 time frame, I'll give you the domain and help set you up on your own hosting.

FCFS kids. Pick your domain, and post it here. DON'T PM me with your choice, you won't get it. Just post it here and I'll PM you with your information. Don't worry, I'll point the nameservers to your new hosting account as well.

Oh yeah, and post your progress in this thread. And questions. Let's try to help each other out.

Before me found wickedfire on the googles, I was a stupid n00b and me always thot i was gonna be one. But thanks to SuperExtra-O_Mike, I am a gazillionaire with a mansion on da moon and can spend my entire day downloadifying porns on the internets.

Seriously though - great idea on helping people out, Mike. Hopefully people get off their asses and take your offer.

If you're not particularly intent on using those domains yourself, would you consider selling some?

I see a few I like the look of, and could probably put into good use.

Hey Mike,

I'm not a noob, I have a vps, a shared account and money to fork up for the domain. Does this exclude me from the offer?

Personally, I'd like the chance to work with a kick ass guy like yourself. What a great offer and a tremendous help to some rookie(s) this will be.

If you'll let me develop one and get some of that expert advice from you I'd like to choose contentlinks.org as the domain. I've got a script I wrote a while ago that scans content and drops a 4 word anchor text link around a keyword of your choosing. It's a great link building tool for getting natural looking links dropped in the body of a web page.

I don't think making money off this script would be hard as I've already had several people offer to buy it from me. I've turned them all down so far.

So, what say you? There won't be any "entry level" questions, perhaps some advice on price point, marketing options & other random stuff.

I'm interested in giving this a go...
Wanted to work on my PHP anyways, seems like a directory along with some affiliate offers would be a good place to start with that..

If you're willing, I'd like to sign up for TOPLOCALDOCTOR.COM and see if I can't make something outta myself. Thanks for the opportunety, looking forward to learning something.

and since it's my first time posting on WF I think my posts are ending up needing admin approval. hope that doesn't affect my shot at doing this, seems like the right place to start.

or just kidding. this post seems to appear just fine. I'd like a shot at TOPLOCALDOCTOR.COM if I could. Wanted to work a bit on my php and a directory seems like a good place to start...and there looks to be about a million affiliate offers relating to medical...um..everything. Looking forward to getting started, let me know what you need. Thanks Mike.

I'm a noob and have my own vps and some hosting customers. I've been in and out of the hosting industry for years. I would like to 'piggy back' an offer on Mikes to eliminate even more excuses.

Here's what I'm adding to the package: I will give you unlimited html, scripting, javascript, web server questions, etc support for the next 30 days. e-mail and IM. If you can do it with a web page, I'm your guy.

I've got lots of experience modifying Wordpress, vBulletin, (tons of the CMS packages, etc.

email for this will be mattgatten at gmail dot com.

Disclaimer: I'm not a visual designer. Functionality wise, I have a bucket full. Visual creativity, I'm fucked.

So there you go. Even less excuses. Giving me a link for my help would be nice but I'm making it entirely optional.

Mike, I wouldn't mind having a go with the hondaaccord domain since I'm a noob!

Awesome offer Mike, this is why Wickedfire puts all other AM forums to shame.

I'll keep an eye on this thread and use my 10 years of web development and 2 1/2 years AM experience to help whoever needs it.

Hi Mike!

I think you may have bitten off more than you can chew with this one! I am a complete noob and have no idea about developing a site. I've dicked around with affiliate bits and bob for a while but I am so keen to get my hands dirty with my own site. If you accept me I would like glittergrafix if thats ok?

Cheers

Okay, for the people that have staked their claims, I'll set up your accounts and PM you the cPanel / FTP login information sometime tonight.

Harvey, PM me if you really want to buy a couple.

I'd really like this to be a sharing thread, so don't hesitate to ask questions here. I don't want to answer questions 3 or 4 times by PM when it could've been answered once in this thread. Capiche?

Holy schnikeys, Mike. Awesome deal.

I too am a complete noob with no idea how to develop a site, but have been lurking and learning what i can here and from other members blogs and such. I guess the only way to learn is to just jump right in and "just fucking do it" right? I'll have a go with localbanksearch.com, if you dont mind. I look forward to learnin' and earnin'. Also a huge thanks in advance to you and all who have offered to help. I'm sure you will hear alot from me.

I'm definitely up for some sharing. I'll be more than happy to lend my coding/scripting skills to this project. I'll be keeping an eye out. Maybe even whip up from free stuff for you guys.

Mike, i don't need a domain or anything. I have enough of them as it is. Thanks for doing this.

wow and everyone is jumping in. awesome!

excited to get to work on this.
Just figured I'd toss it out there. I have about zero experience doing AM, but I have built a few sites and would be more then willing to (at least as far as I can) help out all the people participating as well.

Its really cool that so many people are offering up their time to help us new guys out. Seems like the start of a great idea...looking forward to being able to pay it forward after I get my feet wet.

Jump on this- Mike knows what he's doing. I'd partake myself but I'm tied up with a project.

For noobies trying to decide which domain to go for; run the keywords in the domain name through google trends ( Google Trends ) and pay attention to the misspellings.

Ok, I'm writing conent and getting ready to start posting some things up. I've got some affiliate links picked out for my niche. (I'm a big planner). On my list as a high priority is a 'link campaign'. Other than the usual methods of putting it in my sig, submitting to directories, writing articles, etc., what am I missing?

Also, is there any directories that are better than others?

Last question: Paying someone to do directory submissions. (I've seen some good reviews on some folks on the For Sale forum) Is it a good or bad thing to do? Will I see a bump in traffic from this? If so, how effective are they and how many should I buy? Honest feedback here.

If my priorities are out of whack, let me know. What is everyone else doing as their first steps?

No, but I'm using a domain I already owned. I see Mike put my name on the one I mentioned earlier but I posted again and said I didn't need a domain. I just went ahead and got started.

Fuck yeah! There could not be a better place for me to make my first post. 7 days ago I made a commitment to market online for a living. I've been reading 8 hours a day getting prepared and I think now is the time. Sign me up for....

IGOURMET.ORG --> XraymikeK

I'm ready to go and make some $$$. The plan:
(1) Set up multiple subdomains using YACG (thanks busin3ss, for invaluable info).
(2) Create 1 master domain and use longtail sub-category keywords in each other domain
(3) Creatively link domains using nofollow links in certain places to form pyramid type mininet with master domain in center. (thanks, some 4 yr old free ebook.)
(4) Create blog accounts here and there and post a few times a day to each w/ original content + link to each of my internal pages. (and then when I see the formula works, buy a tool to do this for me...)

I will monetize by placing adwords on each page and relevant CJ links (Just signed up today...) on the master domain page.

Thanks in advance to all who post smart shit here and to the asshats as well.
Most importantly, GIGANTIC thanks to SEO_Mike (who may have posted in every thread I have read to date...) for giving me my first crack at making a buck.

Yeah, Bitches!!! Let the games begin!

Ok, I'm not seeing a bunch of activity here lately. Hopefully everyone is working on their sites and not lurking on the forums. hahaha

Thought I would list what I have done so far.

- Installed some blog software (if for nothing else, an easy way to manage the pages and content).

- Started researching some keywords that I hope are 'niche enough' to let me rank high for some search traffic.

- Started pulling together some content from various sources (mainly article directories that I'm reformatting and rewording).

- Started submitting the site to some social bookmarking sites/directories, etc.

- Started the signup process for neverblueads and Copeac. (That was just this past night).

The work I have done so far isn't what I would consider a large amount of each item but I have taken steps to get started and I have a plan sketched out on paper that I intend to stick to.

Soo, benevolent guides, am I on the right track?

Sorry I've been AWOL guys. That's one of the problems with running a business and trying to moderate Wickedfire. They're both full time jobs.

Anyhow, everyone that has claimed their domain has been noted. I'm off to set up the accounts now. Be patient please.

BTW, to clarify the money thing...you only have to make $1 (minimum) to be able to buy your domain. If you make more than $100 in the first 30 days, I will give you the domain.

Okay, accounts have been set up and PM's sent. I'll change the nameservers soon, but for now just use the IP address. If you want to see your site, go to

http://64.131.76.163/~username

Update you when the nameservers have been changed.

Nameservers updated at respective registrars. Propagation takes 48 hours or less. So, get to work. Update us when you have something to share.

Don't worry about protecting your niche, it's too late for that since everyone already knows your domain name Let's get some discussion going.

Hello Mike,
Is it too late to join this program? If not, I'd like to use PRODAMIPHONE.COM. I'm new to Affiliate Marketing as well but I can develop websites. I'm more than willing to help anyone out with their website, if needed.

Thanks,
-Tony

Dudes, I think one my previous questions got lost in all the action on this thread. I'm reposting it.

Paying someone to do directory submissions. (I've seen some good reviews on some folks on the For Sale forum) Is it a good or bad thing to do? Will I see a bump in traffic from this? If so, how effective are they and how many should I buy? Honest feedback here.

Thanks in advance,

Okay, so as i said, I'm a total n00b here. How do i get access to the site, admin, cpanel or whatever. Like i said before, you will probably get alot of silly questions from me, that is one of the reasons i took this on, so I can learn WTF I'm doing. Please bear with me.

I'm trying to get some discussion going! See my post above.

Another awesome web editor is Aptana. www.aptana.com

It has code assist and includes all the best Ajax libraries and tons of samples. Another is Nuvue. Its comparable to Dreamweaver.
