I was wondering if it is possible to test out where you might place for a set of keywords before actually buying the domain. My site is about blogging, and the things I come across as I advance. I made a post about 300 entrecard credits. I wasn't purposely putting any keywords into the post, just wrote it out. I checked my Analytics a few days (maybe a week) later, and noticed someone found my site on google for the term "300 entrecard". I just checked it while writing this post, and I am #6 on the first page for that term. My site is roughly 2 months old, and doesn't get much traffic. I have followed SEO guides, and add some of my good posts to social networks. I also post on many many blogs that have authority, ranging in PR of 1 to about 6. I still can't seem to get much traffic.
Anyways, on to my question. By getting picked up for "300 entrecard" on the first page of google, for just a post that isn't really related to my site, can I create a post/page for say cars and see if I can slip in to google where I want to stand? Cars is completely off topic to my site, and it would basically be a niche/landing page or something related to affiliate market cars. (NOTE: cars is just an example. I would target like car quotes, insurance, ect.) It would basically be using the same principle as getting found for "300 entrecard" wouldn't it? That way I know I can rank where it would pose profitable, and not waste buying a domain name. Then have the site be a ghost town. Just a thought I had when I noticed some of the keywords I got found for. Thanks in advance for any input. |
