cutebeast has a spectacular aura about
Question Feedback on Forum software

Currently what i have in mind for a forum would be:

1. BurningBoard
2. Invision Power Board
3. vBulletin
4. Phpbb

Anyone can offer a good suggestion on which is the best choice to pick on? Money is not the main concern here, more concern on their functionality, securities as well as the usability (ease of use). Please advise me or suggest other forum software that you think would be better than those 4 above. Thanks.

Well, Wickedfire is vBulletin. If you like that, use it.

Invision's ok from a user end, but I've never used it as a mod/admin.

I like phpBB because it's free, and it's pretty easy to install most mods... not to mention any mod you could possibly want is out there in the dev community.
The down side is that as the MOST used forum software, so it's the most prone to hackers, spambots and other nasties.
Make sure you get a good security mod or six.

vBulletin is probably your best bet if you want to scale to a shit-ton of users. It's also a lot more secure base on my experience. You need to keep abreast of patches for any software you use, especailly PHPbb, they're prime targets for zerodays and scriptkiddies LOVE to attack them.

Thanks for the feedback. Anyone heard about burning board before? It got the list from forummatrix which let you do comparison but like any other review site I am just trying to get more feedback from the ppl that actually use them. Just trying to get thing right on the first step without extra work in the future. Less headache and more sleep
