Hi guys
I joined yesterday this forum and I think this is awesome. There is so much information though I am getting lost literally.
Can somebody please give me some tips and advices, or at least step by step guide what I need to do in order to get strong ranking for my website and start getting some sales.

I only do youtube marketing (a little and not very effective) and on music site where I work people visit. Overall I only have between 12 to 30 unique visits to my site every day. I would love to make that 100 then 1000 etc.

Things I know I need to do (that are not done)

1) Keyword optimization
2) Meta tags
3) Remove the ad sense adds on pages (they just look like they don't belong there)
4) Create some sort of link exchange maybe?
5) Maybe pay for ad words (is that really necessary though?)
6) Submit my site to different affiliate networks?

Please point me out what needs to be done and I will get to it. Step by step guide would be very helpful (just a list with links where I can read more about these things) .

I have seen a couple of music sites that pay like $100 to affiliates with music related sites.

I would do the research but I am tied up right now. Just Google music site affiliates. That's a great way for you to make some money and increase traffic.

Wow this sounds great - too great to be true perhaps?

I Googled it and there were lots of affiliate programs. How do I know which one to pick and most importantly how will that drive me some traffic?
I don't see the way because I have 12-25 unique visits every day, how will that increase my traffic?

Sorry if I am asking dumb questions but as I said I am very new to this but I promise I am fast learner you don't have to tell me twice

As far as traffic, I was referring to the fact that you will even get a bit of traffic from associating your site with other music related sites. The possibilities are pretty wide open.

Leave to use the power of web 2.0 sites linking to your websites.

This drives traffic from clickthroughs but also build solid backlinks.

Because many sites like squidoo are authority sites in google's eyes, piggy back on the back of this and give your video's decent link power.

Many people I speak to are not aware that squidoo now has dofollow tags again, so that is a great way to get started.

Try this out.

1. Register a squidoo site, targeting you main keyword, throw up a bit of content and embedd your video.

2. As above but for hubpages.

3. As above for weebly.com

4. As above for a wordpress.com (register with your keyword).

Use tags that consist of your main keywords and related content.

Then digg your youtube a/c (digg.com) and back this up with propeller.com

Now for the fun part.

Create a friendfeed.com account, and link all these accounts to that (this gives you instant backlinks).

Then submitt the rss feed for all of these to feedagg.com (for starters).

End of part 1.

You now have a heap of backlinks to you youtube video's.

Part 2.

Do something similar in part #1, but link to each of the web sites you setup in part #1.

Do not put your video's on these sites, or link direct to them. Instead link only to the sites you created in part #1

(including the digg.com and propeller link).

Use another keyword this time (mix it up).

Do that for each website.

Submit feeds, etc again.

Then sit back and watch the traffic start to flow in and your rankings in the search engine to explode.

Prepare to be amazed. I have a more complex version (actually a number of versions) of this I use, and the results are often staggering.

e.g. To page 1 for competitive keywords in a day, decent traffic, etc.

If you get stuck on aspects of this, check out my free rss and tag video's on my site. It shows you exactly how to use the tools.

Also if you start getting the results (and you will unless you're only targetting keywords with massive competition) go to a part #3, which links only to sites in part #2.

This will also drive your competitors crazy, because they won't understand why you rank so well, because they won't see all the networks of links you have built up (not hard to find them, but most people in my experience don't check).

This looks and sounds amazing. I have a lesson in half an hour and have to go to rehearsal after that so I will try all these things in the afternoon. If I run into some problems I will let you know.

Hi Tim !

I just created my Squidoo site. I would like you to check it out and tell me what I need to add to it. I am getting a bit lost on your instructions. I read the e book and it explains things but its not step by step like go there do this in detail. So if you don't mind telling me what I need to add to my Squidoo that would be awesome!
I will get to other sites now and register there as well. Would you recommend using different keyword or the exact same like for Squidoo?

I just finished whole step one of your process. It took some time but I am already excited about results.
On Webcam guitar lessons, one of my social networking sites shows up on 4th page of Google!
That's pretty cool considering I was showing up only for youtube videos and very specific keywords.
I would love to get more competitive keywords to work for me like Guitar lessons and Guitar video lessons, so I don't know what or how long it will take me before I start hitting rank for those keywords. By the way I used All 3 keywords in all the sites you mentioned.

Quick question :
I just joined Friedfeed and I added wordpress, digg, weebly and hubpages. I am having lots of trouble adding Propeler page. Can you explain how I can do that?
Also is it possible to post Feed on my own website and have it show always on friend feed everytime I update it?

I am very anxcios to hear your response to this!

Sorry for the delay replying, been very busy. The new website we have put us is keeping us busy, lots of people watching all the video's and asking questions, etc.

Yes this formula is a simple one, and one of many formula's we have nailed in the past 12 months.

I'm actually just finished the first in a series of step by step video's today and am posting to my subscribers (Don't want this type of information indexed, because if everyone saw it and started using it, it would not be anywhere as near as effective as it is currently).

So if you want all the information go to our website and leave your email and you will start receiving the video's (all free by the way).

Sure, go to your propeller story itself and you will see the rss feed button (orange), paste that into friendfeed as a blog and it should work.

It is possible to add a feed to your website, squidoo and hubpages both have the ability to add rss feeds.

It doesn't really make sense to put a feed on your website and then submit it to friendfeed, better to put it on friendfeed direct.

Remember friendfeed is for traffic, and not for backlinks, and feedagg.com is for backlinks (but still ranks well).

You should find your squidoo lens is slower at ranking well than the other sites, but keep driving backlinks to it, and it will get stronger and start ranking very well.

No need for that, you keep the money, I am just happy to hear you are starting to have some success.

Remember that it is normal to see your websites slip occassionally (go down in the rankings, so do not be too worried about it, as they come back soon enough).

All you need to do to get to page 1 is to continue pushing, add a bit of content here and there, adding more sites, links, etc.

Keep us informed of your progress.

Tomorrow when I get some more time I will come back and answer your other questions.

I couldn't get Feedagg to work at all. Added around 3 links and none of them appeared with content. It said on the page content should be approved. It made no sense whatsoever. I sent a message to contact/support hopping they would resolve it but no response yet.

While I am waiting for that , should I open NEW ACCOUNTS on all the pages mentioned previously and this time register with new keyword?

When using feedagg.com you need to add the RSS of the page, and not the normal page. Look for an RSS or feed icon ont he page.

This is the page you submit.. Also use a different title on feedagg and add tags (your keywords).

Note that you will not see anything much happen with feedagg (content) but rest assured it will be ranking well, and you should start seeing them in the SERP's within 24 hours or so.

Yes start new accounts for sure with the next keyword.

Hi Tim,

I did submit RSS feed links and as I said it just said the page needs to be approved. I got a response from a guy who approves all the things there - I sent him all the links and hopefully he will approve them soon.

Quick question

Do you recommend I put on already existing social network pages PAYPAL BUTTON ??? Doesnt than all these pages become Money page?

Do let me know about this, I think this would increase sales even more just not sure if you recommend it or not!

I've never been asked for approval before, so I think maybe you accidentally posted the wrong url or something?

What your talking about (paypal) is an option, and I do a similar things sometimes, but you have to be careful because some websites will not like that.

What I generally do most of the time is use the social sites as a funnel to get traffic to drive to my own domain (money page).

This works well, however I also suggest you mix things up and sometimes have a promotion right on the page can help.

I would suggest you get yourself to page one and once there then start testing with things like this.

You should be focusing all your efforts on getting decent ranking and traffic first in my opinion.

Thank you for your response regardless of time frame. I always enjoy hearing back from you.

I must be doing something wrong with Feedagg. They approved it but it didn't show my complete page just one paragraph worth of text- wonder why is that?

By the way I was very mad today. They FLAGGED my Hub page for being overly promotional and pointing to ONE site. They stopped it , it does not show on google anymore and that was my MAIN traffic page. My traffic decreased by 200% today because of it. Apparently no more than 2 links to one site are allowed on that hub page...

I will try to register again and link them all up with different keywords and the only problem is this takes a lot of time. Its okay to do copy paste with text but obviously I need to test things so the mistake I made with Hub page does not repeat itself.
Also I will consider paying ADWORDS campaign (50$ maybe to test it out) and perhaps even buying new domain just for lessons (so it could be something like videolessonsguitar.com etc).

Your advices have been very usefull Tim and I thank you for that very much. Just the Feedagg is not working out for me and as I said video on that would be awesome tool for me.

Also if you have some experience about Adwords campaign I would love to hear it , and also if you recommend that I need to buy a new domain and make specific sale page just there.

I think right now my site gives people "warm and personal" touch rather then generated page (white with lots of false testimonials , bolded letters and paypal buttons with "special offers" ) . So I am hopping in a long run that will WIN people over because I do care to make my students happy and the intention of my web site is just that. The down side is the generated pages sell way better

Firstly Feedag is about backlinks, all it does is rank very well in Google and give you good backlinks, it's not always pretty but it gets the job done.

So if it has a link and the link is not a "nofollow" link it will be benefiting your website.

Also with hubpages, yes they do take hubs offline, however you can edit it and re-submit it (put more content, less links, etc) and they will re-approve it.

I've done that before. You've got ranked for it, so you may as well make the most out of it.

As for adwords, I am not a guru in it. I suggest you visit my brothers website (well my name is on there, but he runs it as he does a lot of adwords for his niches).

He has a free adwords ebook which gives you free tips.

Don't worry he is not trying to selling you any ppc products!

And good idea about the approach you have taken with content.

I always tell people to pretend your the visitor arriving at your website.

What does it look like now?

I just edited the Hub page leaving only 2 links (different ones) in a text , and lots of different links at the end of the page in the links section.

When it comes to Feedagg are you saying that it does not ever display your full page??? If that is the case , then I need to make sure that my one paragraph has link that leads to money page.

Adwords use to work for me when I was in states but I never tried it here in Serbia - there should not be any differences I imagine.

I look forward to more of your videos , keep them coming its a joy to watch.
I just hope my competitors won't find out about this before I start getting ranked on page 1 !

By the way, huge success already in less then 3 days. My actual lesson page at my website is now on Google on page 7 when you type in guitar webcam lessons. It just shows that this stuff works great and when I create 10 more pages or so with different keywords I can see only sky as a limit to what all this can do.

Any advices on Digg and Prosper?
Should I publish all my pages + videos on prosper?
Any hints or shortcuts how to make this in shorter time period ?

I could not check your site, because of course it was not published....

Well I did not check it yesterday, but I can see it is back online now.

Well done.

You could always add more content and refine it, it probably does not need too many more links.

You might want to use the correct anchor text for linking to your youtube video's instead of just the url. This can help your youtube video's rank.

Of course having some random anchor text can also be good sometimes.

Remember to create multiple levels of links.

So some pages will link direct straight to your videos, etc as they are now.

But some other pages should only link to the pages that link to the videos. Get the idea?

By doing that, you give power to the links and their links as well, and it makes it harder for competitors to figure out what you are doing.

Keep up the excellent work.

I am doing another video today on friendfeed, or rather a better alternative to using that for rss backlinks. I see other people promoting this as a good product to use for backlinks (and in fact when I originally checked it was).

Sorry for this late reply I have been busy last couple of days and didn't get to online work at all.

I saw that my Hub page is published, I am happy about that. Whats not so great is that I lost my rank on page one. That page decreased traffic so that was obviously reason I lost it on page one.

I will redo all the pages like you said, with direct and indirect links , that makes total sense by the way.

Feedagg still doesn't do anything for me and my wordpress blog hasn't been getting much attention either.

You could always add more content and refine it, it probably does not need too many more links.

You might want to use the correct anchor text for linking to your youtube video's instead of just the url. This can help your youtube video's rank.

Of course having some random anchor text can also be good sometimes.

Remember to create multiple levels of links.

So some pages will link direct straight to your videos, etc as they are now.

But some other pages should only link to the pages that link to the videos. Get the idea?

By doing that, you give power to the links and their links as well, and it makes it harder for competitors to figure out what you are doing.

Hi again,

Don't be too worried about rankings in the short term, you will find your rankings go and go down.

Sometimes you will disappear maybe for 24-48 hours, and then come back.

If you keep doing the same thing (building links, etc) eventually it will stabilize.

Feedagg will help you out, but 'behind the scenes'. Using this is giving you backlinks, particulary if you do it for each web 2.0 site you use.

If the web 2.0 site does not have an rss feed, then use dapper.net to build a rss feed for it, and submit that to feedagg.

Checkout my blog, I posted a new video today showing how to use yahoo pipes to merge , filter, and sort 3 rss feeds into one.

You should try doing that as well.

Just using tags in wordpress is enough. You will find they get indexed, especially if you have a tag that has pagerank already.

Do a bit of searching in wordpress to find these tags.

I recommend you do use a new digg and propeller, but also post other stuff in the first ones from time to time as well (not the same link).

Don't give up now. If you do, you will be the same as most of the people I compete against.

You would not believe how many people you see coming up through the rankings, doing pretty well all the right things, but giving up before they have giving it a red hot go.

You will get to page one if you persist.

I haven't done anything in a week or so. Been very busy with recording video lessons and editing them. I barely get any free time its that crazy.

However, if you type guitar webcam or guitar webcam lessons , my real website is actually on page one of google which is great. All the other sites I registered gave the power to my main site and now it ranks great by itself, good stuff.

Last night I got 2 students for customized video lessons so things are definitely moving in right direction. For time being I will accept only 3 more people and see how I can handle the work load. If I get 10 and more requests for video lessons I will simply increase the price a bit and do it full time.

Thank you for the advices I have lot more keywords in mind but one of them I covered perfectly now I need to get to most competitive ones (guitar lessons and guitar video lessons) which will take lots of work to rank anyways.

I'd add that #5 (AdWords) is not necessary if you can be patient and do normal SEO ranking for a few months (usually around 6).

If you check out what he has done he has got to page one in a matter of days. So 6 months won't be required.

Do a combination of web 2.0 and SEO for best results.

Sure more competitive keywords are going to take longer, but knock off a heap of long tails, and over time your more competitive keywords (with some work from you) are going to take care of them selves.

Thank you very much for everything. From very beginning it sounded too good to be true but the way you explained it in your very first post it made total sense to me how it would work. I knew it was all in social networking sites but never figured out the power of Prosper, Digg, Friendfeed Feedagg etc

More good news...

I got another student today ! Last night I got another email from very interested student as well. So that makes it total of 3 and 4th potential student. I am more than happy with the work I put in.

I have to make sure to do it over and over because I haven't done anything in 10 days or so and my rating has dropped. I am on page 2 now I think ?

I will register new keyword and start the campaign again this weekend. My plan is to do ONE WEBSITE a day. That way I keep it stress free and I have time to tweak it more and tie it all in one big chain.
Also I have some new videos on Youtube so this will definitely be useful for more accounts since I can spread them around and use different videos for different keywords or like you mention test the direct link on some of them to get direct traffic and points to that particular link...

This all makes so much sense. I wish I had a month in my life not to do anything and just dedicate it to create hundreds of accounts this way and then just sit back and enjoy it.

Now I feel even bad to some extent that I don't sale some generated product. If I did have some DVD or some "learn how to" course I am sure people would buy it (I got emails from people saying where can I SIGN UP or SUBSCRIBE!) - it just shows how people are taught and driven when they look to spend money online. Some of them didn't even take time to read 3 paragraphs on my lessons page when all the information is there!

Again thank you very much Tim. I will make sure to keep you informed of everything.
I havent seen your videos lately but I got all your emails and I will take one day and just watch it and enjoy - learn some new tricks hopefully

I would have never figured this out online by myself using google talking to friends or even paying people for it.
Tim layed it all out step by step and again its just one of the strategies which makes his approach and system even more interesting and appealing.

Please point me out what needs to be done and I will get to it. Step by step guide would be very helpful (just a list with links where I can read more about these things) .
